Hotel a 3 stelle a Durham

Un hotel di buon livello in una posizione strategica. Ho apprezzato la praticità nel raggiungerlo e l'informalità senza pretese del check in: in un quarto d'ora (giuro!) sono passata dallo scendere dal treno alla stazione di Durham allo stendermi sul letto. La camera era semplice ma con un arredamento gradevole; metto 4 stelle per due cadute di stile (il wifi lento oppure a pagamento e il fatto di rifare le camere solo su richiesta) e per il fatto che io personalmente odio le camere di hotel con finestre che non si aprono. Molto apprezzabile invece la presenza di bollitore, tazze, posate e té in camera. In assoluto non è che coccoli il visitatore al 100%, ma lo consiglio.

Il personale è molto gentile e utile, le camere sono meravigliose - molti punti di potenza in luoghi utili! - e la posizione è bella, vicino alla stazione ferroviaria, a pochi passi nel centro e a pochi passi lungo il fiume.

La stanza era molto pulita e ben strutturata con tutte le attrezzature, e il personale era molto utile quando arrivavamo, per consentirci di controllare la partenza prima di effettuare il check-in. La posizione è grande, a pochi minuti dalla A1(M) che dà grandi collegamenti, la fermata dell'autobus è appena alla fine della strada che dà accesso ai servizi di autobus molto regolari nel centro della città. Inoltre, un grande parco al dettaglio vicino alla porta. Avrei preferito un letto doppio, piuttosto che un letto singolo, e la questione principale era la doccia, che aveva solo metà dello schermo e una lenta drenaggio. Inoltre, non unico a questo hotel, troviamo che l'hotel è notevolmente sovrariscaldato, combinato con un duvet troppo spesso fatto per un sonno difficile di notte. Il giardino era un po' date (necessitando di nuovo kit) e le camere da giardino non erano le più pulite. In generale, molto buon valore per il prezzo pagato. Sarebbe anche rimasto.

1 night stay in the penthouse for lumiere weekend with friends. Fantastic accommodation close to everything. Gillian was wonderful and really helpful, Balloons and a birthday card were supplied in the room as it was my sisters birthday, really lovely and appreciated. Gillian went out of her way to make us feel welcome and explained everything to us on arrival, even got us into our room early. We stayed Friday night and weren't really bothered by too much noise, although ear plugs are provided as rooms are above the bar. The bar is great, good selection of drinks and they have a stamp card scheme, for residents it's buy 3 get 1 free. Live music on Friday night's, although unfortunately the singer wasn't able to attend due to parking issues with the lumiere event on. No breakfast option but lots of options close by, we went to chapters for breakfast which is a few minutes walk across the bridge(delicious) the room was more like a small apartment with a small kitchen with cooker/hob and fridge. Large double bedroom, single bed and sofa bed in living room. Bathroom with shower over bath, it was massive considering we were only expecting a room. Everything was spotless, no dishcloth though so couldn't wash our chips. Fantastic value for money and wouldn't hesitate to book again! Thank you to all at the city rooms!
