Portobello Village Tourist Park

About to check in & was verbally abused by an aggressive staff member for driving on the grass with our vehicle. There were no signs to say otherwise, and we were driving on an approved parking area. We were trying to be courteous & make room for customers coming in behind us. Disgusting behaviour!

Stayed here January 2025, Excellent power sites, clean facilities, very good site introduction on arrival, great site facilities highly recommended , ideal location for coastal holiday, 5 minutes to town, would definitely stay here again.

We had an excellent three nights at the Portobello Holiday Park with our campervan. It's ideally located across from Dunedin in Portobello, so nice and quiet yet only a short drive into town. It also has a great couple of restaurants, a fish and chips and a cafe just down the road. The holiday park itself is large and clean with all the necessary facilities: well equipped kitchen, good bathrooms and showers, laundry, TV room and WiFi. The owner is an absolute dude: very friendly and helpful. We'd definitely recommend to anyone to stay here, and only regret not staying for longer. We'd also recommend to anyone to do the blue penguin spotting at night just up the road. One of the highlights of our trip.

I booked online...Asked about what to see...Reply was go to the tourist information in Dunedin....Friends came to visit after reception hours...didn't want to disturb owners,so we sat in the kitchen....Hour and a half later a lady came in and said "is that your van? " My friend answered yes....pack this up and be on your way.... Quoted.....Following evening, they visited again, while someone was in the office and Quote " uou used the toilets last night and I'm charging you 20 dollars for you to visit your friend... Absolutely dreadful behaviour from the I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND HERE.... Also second day the Toilet block was dirty from the morning.....

We stayed here in our campvan in March 2022. Good, clean facilities and friendly owner. It was a good place to stay as it wasn’t far from the Albatross Centre. Peaceful and quiet with lovely birdsong.

Great place between the albatross colony and town centre. Good facilities, even though the showers were a touch hot and you couldn't adjust the temperature. Manager was very accommodating even though we stuffed up the booking. Defintiely recommend giving it a go.
