Hotel in zona St Mary＇s Church, Dover

Albergo fane’. Abbiamo soggiornato una notte in una suite al primo piano. I corridoi sono labirinti. Ascensore vecchio e lasciato andare al suo interno. Camera grande con balcone. Attenti ai piccioni che possono entrare in camera. Un albergo in una bella posizione che però avrebbe necessità di un bel restauro al suo interno ed al suo esterno. Nota positiva il parcheggio riservato a pochi passi. Niente da dire sull’accoglienza

Stayed overnight as part of a large coach tour heading to Holland next day. Check in was smooth and I think we were upgraded to an executive room (maybe because we’re IHG rewards members?). The room had a fridge as well as tea/coffee making facilities and although the bed and pillows were comfy, for some reason we both had a restless night but that was more than made up for by the superb buffet breakfast (we also had an evening meal in the on site Bella Italia restaurant). Rooms and public areas were clean and there’s plenty of parking (although the layout is difficult for coach manoeuvring!). There’s not much in the way of amenities close by and it’s also a 10min or so drive from Dover (not necessarily a bad thing!). All staff were helpful and friendly so we’d be happy to stay here again next time travelling in the area.

I booked a pet friendly room (stated free/included) which was clearly stated in capital green letters FREE, included in the price. I also made a special request to advise of x1 small chihuahua. Upon arrival and check in, I completed my check in standing together with my dog and was then impolitely informed (after I’d signed my check in sheet) that I hadn’t included my 2kg chihuahua in the booking and was made to pay and extra £10 then another £50 pre-authorised deposit?!?! I showed the receptionist my booking and informed him that I had indeed made a special request and booking for my chihuahua and it clearly stated the price was included and said free/included. This extra charge was not advised or made clear during the online booking process and was not expected at all. Check in could also be a lot quicker! During the check in experience I witnessed security escorting people off the premises and men shouting at them that they were taking drugs in front of their children, I then went out to my car to get my belongings 10 mins later and police were arriving on site to deal with a separate argument with another lady screaming about drugs also. It wasn’t the nicest of greetings to a seaside hotel :( I wasn’t informed of any car park rules/charges or given any check in information at all. I was given a room card with no advice which floor to go and felt quite unwelcome. Having found my way up the landings, the smell was absolutely awful, then upon entering room 224 I was hit with the terrible stench of dog urine and stains all over the floor. I immediately left the room due to the smell and went back to reception to ask for this room to be checked as it is not suitable to sleep in with the gastly awful smell and although I have a dog, my dog is completely house trained and does not urinate inside, therefore I would never stay in a smelly dirty room to then be blamed just because I have a dog with me. I have stayed in many dog friendly hotels and I have never smelt such vile urine smells - not ever, not anywhere, let alone a hotel! I also stated that the room I’d been given was not as described and totally different to my booking(room I booked has a picture, this was not the room I was given) Seriously the carpet in room 224(and the whole landing) needs replacing without delay. Thankfully reception agreed that the room smelt awful and changed my room to 420, which although doesn’t smell, it isn’t the cleanest of rooms and the bathroom extractor needs a deep clean! There’s dirt/crumbs/debris all around edges of bathroom floor - yuk! There’s a sign on front of the bathroom door advising to make sure it’s shut during use and unfortunately due to a broken door at the bottom, the bathroom door cannot fully shut therefore steam is let out of the room and you risk setting off the fire alarm and the building being evacuated!!

Non è un buon senso dimenticare di annullare.

Ho fatto un giro con un'aperta mente, perché avevo pagato solo £46 per una camera doppia di mare. Alla mia arrivo, ho avuto un benvenuto più amichevole di quello che avevo avuto il fine settimana precedente in un hotel 4 stelle a Belfast, che costa più di £200 per la notte! La signora sulla Reception era così benvenuta. Solo quello che mi serviva dopo un viaggio di 4 anni. La mia stanza era stata aggiornata a una vista mare con balcone, che era un vero bonus. Tutto mi è stato spiegato, per quanto riguarda l'ora di apertura del bar, codice Wifi, ecc. Il ricevitore era una vera gioiello e sicuramente un'attribuzione all'hotel. La mia stanza sembrava essere stata recentemente riparata. Il carpette era nuovo, ecc. Ok, il mobilio è un po' datato, come altri avevano detto, ma la stanza, il bagno, ecc erano tutti molto puliti. Anche doccia decente. Ricordate, il prezzo della camera era solo £46? Ho avuto una grande doppia, poi una camera con vista sul mare e un balcone. Valore eccezionale per soldi. I prezzi del bar erano anche molto ragionevoli. Sarei sicuramente tornato. La posizione è perfetta. Le camere sono pulite e il letto era eccezionalmente comodo per me. La stessa signora era in ricevimento quando me ne sono andata e era ancora così felice come quando sono arrivata la notte prima. Sinceramente, molti un ricevitore potevano imparare molto da lei! Grazie per il buon soggiorno.

Questo hotel è così bello!Abbiamo un alloggio e era pulito e bellissimo. Il personale era così bello e ci hanno lasciato giocare a snooker e godere delle strutture.
