Dover: hotel con bar

All the staff are really good, from check in, bar staff and those in Wheelers. We had asked for a room with a bath, and although originally the guy on reception was not sure, whenwe got in the room we did have one. Maybe we should have been told about the scafolding outside the window? Dinner was great. We had not booked breakfast, but since dinner had been so nice we decided to have breakfast. When we got there wew were told that they were so fully booked, but they took us into Wheelers. The small breakfast was superb, and my wife enjoyed her breakfast and latte, what a result that was. Only slight negative about the whole stay was that some glasses and used plates remained outside the rooms, adjacent to our room, but other than that this hotel is really good.

The booking email gives you the code to enter the area with the rooms and your own room but it doesn’t tell you that you need to press a star after you entered the code so it took us a while to work it out and to enter. The car park was full when we arrived and we needed to charge our car but another car was parked in the space for electric vehicles. It was owned by one of the employers so we had to ask him to move it. When we entered room number 2, it was FREEZING! The window had been left open and even when we closed it, the glass was so thin that it felt like it was still open. One of the panels of the blind was broken and hanging. We had to hang a blanket over the blind to block the cold air coming in. With a small radiator in the room, candles we brought from home and a hot shower on, eventually the room warmed up. The water pressure in the shower is very weak so it took me a while to wash my hair to get ready for the evening. We went downstairs for dinner and they were short of staff so it took ages before someone took our order. The food was not great. Chips were fried in old oil and the burger tasted very raw. The Camembert cheese was not melted properly. The breakfast in the morning was not too bad but the one piece of toast they serve was very hard. Again, short of staff in the morning. The coffee machine was not working properly and we had to turn it on and off to get a cup of coffee. The staff are lovely and they are trying their best…

Immagina di svegliarsi da una brutta disturbo alle 1:00 per urlare, urlare, correre la strada e bagnare le porte da un gruppo di bambini. Non pensare, non solo una stanza che fa tutto questo, è più di cinque camere. Li abbiamo chiamati al dipartimento frontale per informarli. Siamo stati con la nostra madre di vecchia cittadinanza che ha bisogno di riposo da un lungo viaggio. La persona che si trovava sul desk ha appena detto ”L'ho preso” e poi ha chiuso il telefono perché non eravamo gli unici a lamentarsi. Continuava per gli ultimi minuti. Non abbiamo visto nessun personale dell'hotel che possa controllare i bambini o gli adulti in corridoio. Io e mio marito andammo all'ufficio del fronte e chiediamo al tipo del fronte di buon grado (bianco, vecchio e brutto). Il tipo del divano frontale ha risposto a mio marito con aggressività: ”Cosa vuoi che faccia? Scaldalo?” Questa è la risposta più brutta a un ufficiale del divano frontale che non sa quale servizio clienti. Il gruppo IHG Hotel dovrebbe guardare a questo e alle norme di azienda con il carattere del loro personale. Abbiamo controllato in tempo anche se non abbiamo dormito da quel incidente. Non ci sono scuse da parte della direzione.

Beautiful place to stay, Very modern clean room & bathroom, tastefully decorated, The bed was super comfy with lovely fresh linen, dressing gown & slippers were provided which is a great addition as many b&bs do not provide these, The room was cosy & had underfloor heating, The Staff were all friendly & helpfully, We booked a table for 13 last minute & even though the pub was very busy with people eating they accommodated us all, the service was spot on & food delicious all my guests commented on how lovely their food was, great job at such short notice, A beautiful friendly country pub in a lovely village with hill & counrty side views, would highly recommend as a place to stay & eat,
