After having a bad elsewhere, I decided to visit all the places within my price range in Dickwella/hiritikeya before making a booking, and I didn’t find a single place comparable to Surfbay villa! The place looks just as in the pictures (which sets it apart from pretty much every place I've visited). It is clean, the shower is great, the bed is comfy, the internet is as good as it gets in Sri Lanka, and it has an equipped kitchen. It’s super close to the supermarket , local markets, local restaurants and Dickwella beach. Walking distance (15 minutes) to hiritikeya beach and the night life area. I was a bit worried about sharing the kitchen because I mostly eat at home and cook everyday, but the owner was super nice and helpful, always making sure I had everything I needed. The few times something broke down it was fixed in a heartbeat. Every time I asked if the kitchen had something (like storage baskets) and it didn’t, it was purchased right after. I originally planned to be there for a month, but the place was so great I ended staying for three, and using it as a base to travel around the southern province. It’s also within walking distance of the bus station so it was easy and convenient! I wish I could give more stars!

Spent 2 nights and loved our stay there. Wifi and Air Con was provided in the rooms and the villa is situated close to the beach with a short walking distance. The hosts are extremely hospitable and welcomed us and gave us all the valuable information on getting around the area. Our sleep was very nice and the room was comfortable and well lit. The toilets are clean and spacious and the shower was very nice! The hosts were on hand to deal with any questions we had for them. All in all it was a very lovely stay and we could not recommend it more highly!
