We stayed in the top-floor King Room (fair warning: if stairs aren’t your thing, this might not be your match), but it’s well worth it! Think huge super king bed, a bathroom that could host its own spa day with a double bath and walk-in shower, and tasteful decor that feels more ‘cosy home’ than ‘generic hotel’. Nigel, your host, clearly gets it. Fresh milk in the fridge, tea, coffee, hot chocolate — all the essentials to make you feel properly spoiled. We needed a one night stay over in Ilkeston and booked Borrowfield Lodge through ***********. We were asked in advance our arrival time and when we asked if we could check in earlier than the normal time we received a lovely welcoming email from Nigel confirming this He was there to greet us on arrival and we were delighted to be upgraded to the large double room from the standard one which we had booked. Everything about the room was lovely, from the furnishings, bedding, towels, enormous bathroom, tea, coffee, water and fresh milk provided to the complimentary toiletries. We had trouble getting through to a nearby pub to book a meal and Nigel immediately rang the owner’s private number and secured a table for us. Nigel is so friendly and helpful and couldn’t do enough for us. We would highly recommend this little gem of a place and will definitely stay here again should we ever be in the area.

Staying one night for Download 22 at Donnington Track. Beautiful renovated lodge within secured gated parking . Tastefully and modern en-suite rooms. Very comfy bed with fridge kettle TV and a what to do guide in Derby . Highly recommend. 👍
