Tree of Life Resort Dehradun Foothills

The location is very discreet and the property is kind of a heritage structure. The surroundings are quiet and lush green. Peaceful. But, ~The rooms are enormous but lack the basic aesthetics and amenities. ~Moulds have colonized the walls behind the beds and due to no mechanism to deal with the dampness inside, the linen gets affected too. (In terms of smell on the blankets etc). ~Toiletries provided are very basic in nature. ~Hot water is not a problem and the water pressure is fine too. The beds are not at all comfortable. The food is ordinary and nothing special to mention about it. Tasted fresh nonetheless. The place screams for a need for a major overhaul. Monkeys are in abundance. Strangely, I did not feel very safe here and wanted my husband to be always around. No specific reason but that feeling. The staff is polite and courteous to say the least. We had planned to stay for a couple of nights here but ended up not extending our stay after the first night. Piece of advice for the management: This property has tremendous potential in terms of a heritage property and the location. A good interior designer ***** with a turnaround expert is needed. I stayed at this beautiful small property with my family on the way back from Mussoorie to Delhi. This property is away from crowded area of Dehradun and close to the cantonment. The property was beautifully designed and decorated with traditional artifacts and wooden statues. The reception has a huge 8 feet Vishnu statue made of teak wood from Kerela. The dining area was also beautifully decorated to elevate the dining experience. Even the crockery they used was antique, stylish and elegant. Special thanks to the old 60 year old " Renne Mali Bhaiya " who had a deep knowledge about all his beautiful plants in the property. I will be back soon !!!

I did a stay with my wife and few friends from 18 - 21 Oct'24. Very impressed with the property and especially the kindness and service mind set of all Hotel Staffs right from room service, room cleaning and catering to various requirements during breakfast. We had a wonderful stay at Tree of Life Dehradun. It's only 15-20 minutes from the city but right in the forest/ mountains. An idyllic haven. The staff is very attentive. Loved the stone exterior and well kept interiors. We enjoyed our breakfast here as we were out in the day. A great place to stay!

The property is located far away from the city but it is really impressive with it's aesthetic looks and old world charm. However very poorly maintained, leaking walls and dampened interiors. Lacked basic toiletries like mosisturizer disposal bags shower caps etc. shower gel and shampoo bottles were unclean and had no labels to know which was what. Had dirt and dust all over, in desperate need of deep cleaning. Bathroom had yellow stains. Despite our request no housekeeping came for cleaning. They did spray air freshener that lasted few mins. To make the matter worse the food was pathetic. Took a long time to make but there was no taste and was unhygienic. Found files in the soup.

The food was fantastic, there were very few people, so chef asked our preference. Property is in a beautiful, serene environment. Staff was very humble and well behaved. Overall 5/5
