Worst hotel I’ve stayed in Cuenca, Ecuador!!! - Beds were extremely uncomfortable, may as well of sleeping on their sun loungers. - Pillows were solid hurting your neck when you slept. -The floor makes too much noise - Room was dust central, dust had settled everywhere and even after us wiping it off with some baby wipes it would re settle. Under the bed was filthy with dirt and dust looked like it had been forgotten about by the cleaner. - Room was dirty and horrible and the bottom of it was rusty. When we arrived, they charged us three nights in advance when we only planned to stay one, (That was our reservation) the next day we spoke with Mr. Camacho, and he understood that we did not like the hotel and promised to refund us and we went to another hotel. After a day we returned and according to them their policy did not allow us to get a refund, when their online page does not say anything. They called us thieves, luckily our bank was able to fix the situation and return our money. I could go on but I’m not going to waste any more time. I have honestly never been a hotel so horrible and met such rude two-faced Owner Mr. Camacho and Ms. Sandra (excluding the Front desk woman who was lovely), DO NOT STAY.

Hotel Casa San Rafael is a beautiful hotel with excellent and attentive staff. The hotel is very secure, rooms are very clean and decorated very nicely. Plenty of hot water in the shower. Beds were a bit firm for me but I got used to it after a few nights. As we were in a room that faced the street it was somewhat noisy. The constant chirp from the cross walk light woke me several times. The floors are beautiful old wood, but creaky. the breakfast was delicious and every morning hot eggs of some sort were served with bread, fruit, fresh juice and tea/coffee. Having never been to Cuenca, I was a bit worried about safety and it was also Carnival weekend. We never felt unsafe at all and our balcony overlooked the parade! There were many restaurants, cafes, stores, banks, pharmacies and attractions within a few minutes walking distance. It was a wonderful week in Cuenca and I would stay there again.

Charming little hotel in old downtown Cuenca, where you’re close to everything within walking distance. Staff here is extremely nice, helpful and friendly!! The hotel is Very clean and it offers everything you need for a comfortable and relaxing vacation. Thank you San Rafael Hotel!

This hotel has been extremely well preserves and maintained - it still had the sixties and seventies light switches. Everything it offers has the same aim: offer basics of à very good quality for a very fair price. Although there seemed to be a mix-up and we needed to switch to another ( smaller ) room or go to a room without window, the staff is very devoted ( especially the Möring shift receptionist who also helps with the breakfast.

La experiencia en hotel Casa San Rafael fue espléndida. Disfrutamos cada día que nos hospedados ahí. La atención es de primera, las señoritas son muy amables. Nos recomendaron un tour muy interesante. Además su ubicación es muy buena, está cerca de todo y el sector es muy bonito para fotografiar, caminar y disfrutar del centro histórico de Cuenca. Definitivamente volveremos a hospedarnos ahí cuando volvamos, muy recomendado!

In dem kleinen Hotel im rustikalen Stil wurden wir äußerst freundlich und hilfsbereit empfangen. Das Stadtzentrum und zahlreiche Restaurants waren fußläufig erreichbar, auch im Dunkeln noch möglich ohne Taxi. Die Zimmer und Bäder waren sehr sauber und mit allem ausgestattet, was man benötigt. Das Frühstück war reichhaltig und lecker! Absolute Empfehlung!
