Colonia: hotel con bar

Quietly, conveniently and serenely stayed at this hotel for the past 6 days. Good to recommend this hotel as a priority choice especially for cologne travellers who preferable to stay away from bustling areas. An enjoyable back and forth daily walk from hotel to train station whereby some good restaurants are the best solutions of our hungers. Highly recommended to stay and definitely will stay again in the future. Thank you..

This was my first time back since my military days and having travelled through Germany in the 3 years I was here, I haven’t changed my opinion that Cologne is the best city to visit. This time I was here for the FIBO fair and stayed at the Mercure for the first time. As expected it was first class and the hospitality of its staff was impeccable. The hotel is out to the west which means a 20-30 minute tram ride into the main area around the cathedral and river but once you master the payment system you will enjoy the experience, with the trams being on time throughout. The only criticism is that being a fitness person and witnessing others like me staying at the hotel, the gym was poor consisting of only 3 cardio machines in a tiny room. A small set of dumbbells would be a welcome addition and would have justified a 5 star instead of the 4 I have given. Otherwise well done to all the staff for a highly enjoyable stay. Hygien, room, bed, quietness everything was great except that I got this problem with the receptionists. So I did explain to all the receptionist (that I saw-because I understand they work in shifts) that I lost 2 luggages due to the airline's mistake and airline will send them to this hostel where I would be staying (for 1 night only). I explained that if someone sent luggages here, please tell me asap because I needed to catch a train to Amsterdam the nextday noon. Imagine 35kg of personal belongs just dissapeared, I didnt have toothbrush, clean clothings.... I reminded them everything 3-4 hours when I saw a receptionist. After almost 27 hours of waiting in worry (which made me cannot enjoy the city), I talked to one receptionist to please check 1 more time becauze the airlines mailed me that they did send to the hostel at 4:30pm in the day I checked-in hostel, (only 4-5 hours after my flight time), she let me go it the luggage room and my luggages were there the whole time! So I waited in pain for 22 hours for nothing. I think it would be a bit obvious when 1 guy in delivery company uniform went in with 2 luggages and said ”this is from one of your customer.” But the receptionist just forgot it quickly and didnt tell me. I had to change a lot of my plan and I was feeling terible and stressful with the waiting and fear of lost luggages. Beside that, the condition of rooms, facilities, warm water, sound proof windows were great.

Abbiamo avuto occasione di soggiornare in questa struttura e l'abbiamo trovata accogliente e ben curata. Zona piacevole e con ogni servizio. Con una buona camminata ci si ritrova in centro in 15 minuti.

I'm a Steigenberger fan. And this was my third stay at the Köln hotel. This year, it was clear quality of services and amenities dropped, from the collapse of the computer system right at the start of Gamescom, to long waits to speak with staff. The hotel needs more seasoned hands on deck. Staff is helpful & friendly, but overworked. Not happy with the half glass wall that separates part of the shower from the rest of the bathroom. It's a poor design that leaves the bathroom floor wet. Get a proper sliding door in place or a shower curtain. The bottom of the bathroom door showed clear signs of water damage. Also, don't flag all your green initiatives when you offer non-recyclable metal pods for the Espresso machine. Breakfast was great, parking nearby, love the location and neighborhood. But the hotel felt shabbier and service slide was notable from a year ago.

Gosh should I write this as for me its my safe haven and guilty pleasure ( as i always book longer than i require for biz ) I travel extensively for biz and understand value and quality and this place delivers for sure. Its now edging into Summer and the terrace has splendid views, the attention to detail in all rooms updated and the customer team tweaked to reflect its 2023 vibe. For me its an absolute no brainer, celebrate a great location, awesome FKK Therme / Spa and prices that are superb ( plus a massage from Tobias changed my life ) - okay its not perfectly corporate - BUT - I am a travel writer and indeed food stylist - corporate traveler. Wowzer why stay any where else in Cologne - BUT TELL ANYBODY I TOLD YOU - PLEASE

È molto vicino alla stazione ferroviaria di Colonia, a 10 minuti a piedi, e nell'isolato opposto della strada commerciale. È tranquillo nel trambusto, circondato da numerosi supermercati e ristoranti. È molto comodo andare alla cattedrale e alla via commerciale. La stanza è igienica e pulita, la velocità di Internet è molto veloce, l'area pubblica è ampia e confortevole, è un business hotel di fascia alta con prestazioni ad alto costo.

Era un hotel molto pulito. La nostra camera, il nostro letto, i cuscini sono immacolati. Il personale è cordiale e disponibile. La posizione è un po' distante dal centro ma a 10 minuti a piedi. Non abbiamo viaggiato dappertutto, dobbiamo vedere. Io consiglio.

A circa 15 minuti a piedi dal duomo e in una zona carina piena di ristoranti e negozi, questo credo sia l'unico punto a favore dell'hotel. Appena arrivati ci hanno spiegato che il minibar della stanza era gratuito e che potevamo prendere quello che volevamo perché sarebbe stato rifornito ogni giorno ma quando abbiamo aperto il frigo era evidente che non lo avessero nemmeno pulito: c'era una barretta di cioccolata sciolta e una bottiglietta d'acqua già aperta, oltre al fatto che fosse sporco e ho dovuto pulirlo io per poterci mettere le nostre cose. Una notte abbiamo avuto difficoltà a prendere sonno perché c'era un fastidiosissimo bip probabilmente proveniente dalla porta di emergenza di fianco alla camera. L'ultima mattina siamo usciti per fare colazione e rientrando verso le 10 (il check out è fino alle 12) abbiamo trovato l'inserviente in camera che stava pulendo, gli abbiamo spiegato che ancora non avevamo lasciato la stanza (la nostra roba era ancora tutta dentro) e lui ci ha fatto capire stizzito di non usare niente perché aveva già pulito. Da un quattro stelle a più di 100€ a notte a persona mi aspetto molto di più.

Non c'era nessuna aria condizionata (AC), anche se l'hotel era annunciato come avesse. Le loro scuse erano che era troppo freddo per operare l'AC per l'hotel, anche se era davvero molto caldo fuori. Traduzione: tutto l'hotel è a caldo o AC, sono troppo frugali per permettere l'uso dell'AC annunciato, o il loro sistema è obsoleto e non funziona effettivamente correttamente. Molto caldo e bagno. La cosa strana era che il lobby dell'hotel sembrava avere AC. Le strade e la stanza erano incomodemente calde. Quando si accendeva, c'era solo un po' di carta da bagno lasciato sul roll. Fortunatamente c'era un roll extra. Solo poche foglie di Kleenex erano nella scatola. Inoltre, il distributore di sapone a mano era quasi vuoto. Sembra che non si prenda molta cura delle camere tra gli ospiti. Il nostro ultimo giorno il custode colpiva la porta prima di mattina, anche se il segno di “non disturbare” era appeso alla porta. Era una stanza di base con mobili, che comprendeva un tavolo, una piccola tavola rotonda, due piccole stanze notturne, una sedia da tavolo e una sedia a sedere. Non c’era un frigorifero, solo un mini bar. Abbiamo dovuto usare la sedia per l'altra valigia, i letti non erano troppo comodi. Anche il caso della cucina non copriva completamente la cucina, perciò la testa poteva riposare sulla parte esposta della cucina dove gli ultimi centinaia di ospiti hanno posto le loro teste. Il bagno era ok, ma un po' profumo. Il doccia aveva una bassa pressione idrica. Qualche acqua scorrerà sotto la porta del doccia al pavimento. Passare sopra il tubo ad alta velocità con un piano doccia slippery è un po' precario. Velocità Internet era 3.81 Mbps in carica e scarica, con latenza 8 ms. La posizione è vicino al museo del cioccolato e un buon ristorante di pizza e pasta è vicino. La cattedrale è a meno di un chilometro di distanza. A quasi 400 euro a notte, è stato molto costoso per una cattiva esperienza. Forse HN è per “Non felice”.
