We were touring by car and didn’t want to take it into the city, where parking is scarce and expensive. This very modern hotel is located on the main road into the city centre from the west. It is between two close-by bus stops with frequent buses into the city centre that are all FREE! There were several restaurants and a small supermarket within easy walking distance. The room had metal blinds to keep out the light and air conditioning, which was just as well as opening the windows would have let a lot of noise in from the main road. The room was very clean with a nice modern bathroom and would have been even better had it had tea/coffee making facilities and perhaps a small fridge (or an ice machine in the lobby). The door to the bathroom was weird, being just a sliding door with absolutely no privacy because it didn’t block any noise! Also, the inside of the door didn’t have a handle. Breakfast, included in the price, was really very good, with excellent coffee, juice, cereals, fresh fruit salad, yogurt, cheese and cold meat, boiled eggs, bread, pastries and preserves.

hotel di ottimo livello, di categoria superiore, posto in una zona residenziale a circa 15/20 minuti a piedi dal centro. attenzione è ben collegata con i mezzi pubblici - che sono gratis - ed ha collegamento diretto con l'aeroporto tramite la linea 6. questa linea passa anche per il centro. per il problema auto hanno un parcheggio ma al costo di 25 euro a notte. la nostra camera era dotata di tutti i comfort. pulizia giornaliera. nella tariffa non era compresa la colazione che aveva un costo extra di ben 20 euro a persona. il problema è stato risolto o andando da hoffman, uscendo sulla sinistra, oppure dal fornaio un poò più avanti sulla destra verso il centro.

A me e a mio marito, è stata assegnata la camera no. 51, al pianterreno, spaziosa, pulitissima e dal buon livello di comfort. Senza infamia e senza lode il buffet della prima colazione (17 euro a persona e al giorno). Il personale è gentilissimo e premuroso. Sia il check-in che il check-out sono stati molto veloci. La posizione è comoda e piacevole, a 10' a piedi dal centro storico (di cui si gode una bella vista dal giardino dell'albergo) e a pochi metri da un grande parco pubblico.

Più di dieci minuti a piedi possono raggiungere tutte le principali attrazioni di Lussemburgo.E il parcheggio a terra dell'hotel è molto pieno, c'è un parcheggio sotterraneo e un parcheggio gratuito.Quindi siamo molto convenienti a guidare qui. La stanza è anche molto pulita, il personale della reception è entusiasta, perché ho una multa per il parcheggio a Bruxelles. Non capisco il testo sopra. During my last business trip to Luxembourg, I stayed in a classic double room in the annex to the Grand Hotel Victor Hugo. The stay was excellent, and because of the summer temperatures I particularly appreciated the air conditioning and the window shutters. The spacious and clean room had an excellent bed, a large flat screen TV, a kettle to make coffee or tea and a minibar that can be used as a small fridge. The free WiFi always worked fine and the spacious shower cabin in the bathroom was a final plus. Staff were friendly and professional and the breakfast buffet offered a good quality and variety. However, there were some minor drawbacks that prevents me from giving the top score. I found it annoying that the safe in the room did not work, which meant that I could not safely store my laptop in the evening. The hairdryer did not work either. The double bed actually consists of two joined single beds (though with an excellent mattress) and the annex is a rather soulless building. Nevertheless, if I were to visit Luxembourg again, I would be happy to stay at this hotel, although I would consider upgrading to the main building. Prices are a tad lower compared to similar chain hotels in Kirchberg. The Grand Hotel Victor Hugo is a great base for both leisure and business travellers. The free tram stops almost in front of the hotel (Theater stop) and the car can be parked cheaply on the nearby square (Glacis). The rate at Glacis is 1 euro per hour on weekdays between 8 AM and 6 PM and is free outside these hours and on weekends. The centre of Luxembourg is easily accessible on foot and two minutes’ walk away you will find two supermarkets (Cactus and Monop' both open from 7 AM to 8 PM).
