Travelodge Hotel - Chippenham Leigh Delamere M4 Eastbound

Staff knew there was a continual issue with water pressure and lack of hot water, yet still used these rooms for bookings, The rooms did not even reach the basic of standards of cleanliness. We used 2 rooms as the toilet didn't flush in the 1st room and BOTH rooms had not been cleaned properly at all. Carpets not vacuumed properly, water marks over all taps, kettle full of lime scale, no soap in one dispenser, a towel missing, mirror not cleaned and windows hand hand and greasy marks on them. Paint peeling off shower room ceiling. Spiders nest (not just a web) in corner of room on floor clearly visible. although we were given the 2nd room the member of staff stated that we were lucky as they had a spare room, but if they didn't then we would just have to put up with it ! Our main issue was the the toilet not flushing and lack of water pressure in the first room and then the basic uncleanliness of both rooms. Appalling stay. We were not offered a refund but will be persuing.

One night stopover with family and 2 dogs. It’s it modern 5 star luxury? Of course not … it’s a travelodge at a motorway services. It IS a bit run down, tired, dated and basic etc …. But you DO get a big, clean and comfortable bed in a seemingly sound proof spacious room, clean fluffy towels, a hot shower a kettle and TV for a budget price. All receptionist staff we met were friendly and helpful. Extra tea and coffee supplies, toiletries, a hairdryer, iron … all available from reception if required. Lovely space outside for us to exercise the dogs, although there is an issue with litter in some areas there, that’s not the fault of the hotel. Would we stay here for a holiday? No. But as a one night stopover, or as a base for sleeping and showering for touring the local attractions, it’s ideal. A really good nights sleep in a very convenient location with friendly, helpful and welcoming staff …. Would absolutely stay here again.
