Cit'Hotel le Plantagenêt

This is a wonderful hotel. It is well situated in Chinon with free parking directly opposite in the square. The interior is very stylish and our room was modern and well equipped. The breakfast room is very inviting and there was a very good choice of food including fresh croissants, toast, jams, cheese, ham, yoghurts, nuts, fruit, eggs etc and it is all beautifully presented in a nice airy conservatory. The staff at the hotel are most obliging and speak good english. Overall an excellent choice if you want a central hotel at a competive price. To be highly recommended.

This hotel is superb. It is well located and there is free parking just in front in the square. The welcome was first class and the room very spacious and well equipped. The breakfast served as a buffet in the conservatory had a wonderful choice of food and drinks including smoked salmon and home made fruit salad and cakes as well as pastries and a good selection of hot and cold drinks. We ate dinner in the Bistro du Marche next door which had an excellent menu. All in all a great hotel which we would highly recommend as you are very well treated and the facilities are all excellent.

Well situated for Chinon and the Loire. Friendly helpful staff. Comfortable rooms. Secure car parking. a little off the beaten track but easy to find. Great breakfast and good service at reception for an early start.

We were on a trip with friends to the Loire Valley. I booked two rooms at this hotel - requesting a king-sized or "twin" room for both rooms. One room was spacious and had a king-sized bed. The other was tiny - with a full-sized bed. My husband and I (who are tall) had to turn side-ways to get around the end of the bed. When we were preparing for the day, one of us would leave the room so the other had room to maneuver. There was nowhere to put our luggage. The bathrooms are quite outdated and we had to add water to the back of the toilet to get it to flush properly.

From the multiple signs warning that reception is closed until 15.00 to the scruffy patch of garden with dirty furniture described as ‘an enclosed garden by the manager in her best franglais - this is a place to miss when visiting Chinon. One set of The bedroom curtains revealed a breeze block wall and the bed mattress was lumpy and probably pre dated the building. The breakfast room was Butlins a la 1950 with dirty cups. Tea and coffee in the common area consisted of a large box of PG Tips , a kettle and some paper cups. I have tried to make this review light hearted but it was a struggle

Hotel is totaal outdated, versleten tot op de draad. het is niet omdat je een nieuw hangtoiliet installeert en een lavabomeubel vernieuwt dat je kan gaan pretenderen dat je gerenoveerde kamers mag gaan stellen. Bedden ... komen waarschijnlijk van op een of andere rommelmarkt dito voor de doorlegen matrassen!!! Lawaai van je welste ! is het niet van de airco is het van mensen die dan een bad/douche nemen waar de afvoeren bij leeglopen! is het dan van de nachtingang. Een kramiekel van poort met een deurtje er in verwerkt. ontbijt is echt minimalistisch. Hygiëne is ondermaats... hadden een verblijf van 4 nachten en geen enkele keer is gepoetst op de kamer laat staan beddengoed ververst! handdoeken zijn wel ververst. De tuin is een echte schande om te laten zien aan de mensen. Het enige positieve wat van dit hotel kan gezegd worden is ... Super vriendelijke mensen ! Zowel in het hotel ( receptie) als in het naast gelegen hotel waar ook de eetzaal is ... super vriendelijk!!! Voor ons zeker niet meer voor herhaling vatbaar. Voor de omgeving en bezienswaardigheden TOP!!!
