I stayed for the altitude rooms, 3 weeks total & full board. Would recommend this to other athletes looking to do altitude training (live high train low). The room was very spacious and the staff were brilliant with me. The staff made sure that safety was top priority and made themselves available if I needed them. The food was top class, perfect for any level of athlete. Kitchen run by top sports nutritionists so you know you’re in good hands- special shout-out to chef Varun V and Abs for being so welcoming and helpful. 5stars

We had a weekend at Holywell House and found it to be an excellent place to stay. Les and Derek were at hand for any needs and the breakfast was superb. Cooked and served beautifully with quality products in the Full English. Ideally situated very handily for the Great Central Railway where we enjoyed a steam train ride an also for the town centre with a good selection of restaurants within walking distance. We ate at Eastern Spice which was an excellent Indian restaurant just a few steps away. Thoroughly recommend this B&B.

Me and my partner had the best weekend in one of the superior river view rooms. The view was immense, the room was spotless and we had the added enjoyment of having the room with the jacuzzi bath. The little extra touches didn’t go unnoticed.. like bottles of water in the room and everything else you could possibly need. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. They truly go above and beyond! A complimentary breakfast was an added bonus for us because it wasn’t expected, but even that I can’t fault. Had everything you could possibly want. The staff themselves make this hotel worth coming too. More like friends than members of staff. By the looks of it, the hotel is under renovation and you can see the improvement from our last stay. The hotel just keeps getting better and better. As far as reviews go.. you can’t please everyone.. but If you want a hotel that isn’t costly, in a perfect location, with staff that truly care about the customers then I would look no further. I will continue to stay at this hotel when necessary. No complaints this end whatsoever! :) thank you at George. My home away from home x
