Hotel in zona Vogue Optical, Charlottetown

What a charming and quirky hotel. Charlottetown is a lovely small city, dotted with historic buildings. One of those is the Dundee Arms Inn. The lobby and common areas aren't air conditioned, and we arrived on a particularly warm day. I worried as I entered carrying our things up to our third floor room. Thankfully, the room had a very efficient air conditioner. The room had lots of character, almost magical. You enter into a sitting area with a sofa, tables, a desk, etc. To the left was a small but tasteful bathroom with the cutest little tub! The angles of the roof cast intriguing shadows. THe large and sturdy bed was situated in the turret, making for a tight squeeze for us larger men, but the space was a whimsical escape. The inn includes a large deck with numerous tables, mostly for drinks from the bar, but it's also a great place to dine on breakfast delivered from nearby eateries. The only real drawback is the lack of elevator. My advice for couples is to pack one small bag for both. That will save numerous trips up and down the stairs.

For those seeking a hotel with accessibility, the Rodd Charlottetown has an elevator that only goes to the 4th floor. We were on the 5th floor, and this wasn't a huge issue as we only had tote bags with us, but would have been annoying if we had suitcases, or someone with us who has trouble with stairs. The hallways are dark and musty, so they have dehumidifiers running. Our room was large, but the pull out sofa bed deemed as a double, was very tiny, so could only sleep one person and looked like it was from 1932. Not comfortable. The room was fully carpeted and the carpet felt damp under our feet so we kept our sandals on. The king bed mattress was comfortable. If there was air conditioning we couldn't tell and it was hot in the room. The bathroom was fine, though the plug lifted out of the sink and was covered in soap scum and mold - and the shower tiles also had soap scum over the grout. For $500/night, we would expect more. The old world charm feel is lovely, but this hotel room felt just old, run down and needing renovation. The front desk and restaurant staff were great, super friendly and the food in the restaurant was delicious. Their outdoor seating was nice. We would not choose to stay at this hotel again, but would stay elsewhere and go there for a meal.

I would give this a one star but everything is relative. PEI is a place where a lot of people come to camp so it is not a land of many five star hotels. We stayed here because Air Canada was supposed to get us in around midnight. But with all the flight changes we arrived at 4 PM. Wow this place needs some TLC! Our cost including tax was 124 Canadian. Here are the acceptable amenities: 1) Free airport pick up- very nice 2) Built in shower ( so no dirty grout) Hot Water and good water pressure. 3) Only a 10 minute walk from coaches sports bar and Grill which was very good. 4) black out curtains 5) extremely quiet during the night At first glance the property is a cute Roadside motel. But when you open the door to the room everything is obviously very, very old. In my opinion the only thing that should be on a hotel bed is everything that can be washed every time a guest leaves. There is a blanket and a bedspread on top of the sheets which I am guessing do not get washed every time a guest leaves.( that is just an assumption.) The bathroom formica sink is coming apart, there are permanent stains around the toilet on the old linoleum floor, the mattress and pillows are uncomfortable and the mattresses is noisy so you will wake up your partner at night getting up. The coffee pot was dirty… Which I cleaned with Lysol wipes but don’t bother because the coffee in the room is more like coffee flavored water. The room appeared to be clean enough but it is depressingly old. If you must stay across the street from the airport for one night it’s fine. Breakfast consists of ham chunks, scrambled eggs, boiled potatoes, various cold cereals, oatmeal which was cold from sitting out in an uncovered dish for hours, orange juice that was actually very good, and coffee served from (also) dirty / stained coffee pots.

I have really enjoyed my stay here -- one more night to go -- with a spacious, clean, and comfortable room. The hotel, quite simply, exudes a ”this will be a good stay” upon arrival. The vibrant lobby bar is a nice bonus. It is on the waterfront and Queen Street dining and shopping is a few feet away on foot.

L'hotel è situato in una zona residenziale e c'è un parcheggio dietro l'hotel, quindi non è necessario parcheggiare in strada. C'era una piccola zona cucina, un comodo letto di re, un piccolo divano e un piccolo bagno. Non abbiamo fatto molto uso del balcone perché il tempo non era un incoraggiante seduto fuori. La decorazione era pulita e pulita. Il servizio di pulizia era molto piacevole. Ci sono delle belle aree di sedere all'interno per gli ospiti e non abbiamo mai visto nessuno seduto in loro, quindi probabilmente non è necessario un balcone. (La vostra scelta!) Le aree comuni sono bellissimi decorati. La zona di colazione è grande e le tavole sono preimpostate per la vostra arrivo. Se volete un semplice colazione con cereali e tosta, potete aiutarvi. Ci sono server che prenderanno il vostro ordine per un colazione più sostanziale e ci sono 6 opzioni. Ci siamo stati tre giorni e tutto era bello! Ogni mattina c'erano muffin molto piccoli. Le donne che hanno servito il colazione erano amichevole e salutavano gli ospiti con una salada di frutta fresca. Chiunque ha preparato il pasto ha fatto un grande lavoro. È importante notare che non c'è ascensore, quindi se le scale sono un problema, puoi chiamare per vedere se c'è spazio che ti si adatta. L'hotel è chiuso e devi chiamare qualcuno per aprire la porta fino a quando non hai il tuo passaporto. Inviano istruzioni specifiche con la vostra conferma per le informazioni di accesso e parcheggio.

I nuovi proprietari si trovavano davanti e in centro da un check-in all'altro.Mia figlia e io rimasemo per due notti. Ci siamo distaccati dai ristoranti, dal parco Victoria, il centro di performance di Firenze Simmons dove abbiamo avuto biglietti per la produzione di Anne e Gilbert la musica. Qualcosa per tutti...Non mangio latte o pane non-sordoide e le opzioni gratuite per latte erano molte. Il pane soudoide sarebbe bello aggiungere al menu ma non mi ha fermato a godermi bacon, salsicce, hash Browns, cereali (con opzioni non-sordoide latte). Molte pasticcerie per coloro che trovano il must. Non può raccomandare questo posto abbastanza.

La struttura è piuttosto nuova e tutto era perfetto. Il personale del desk era utile nel direttaci a chiudere il ristorante e la camera era grande e confortevole.
