Located on the southern shore of beautiful Indian Lake, Unit #5 is only steps away from the shared beachfront of Sunset View resort. Originally founded in the late 30's with traditional log cabins for summertime get-a-ways. Cabin 5 is one of the 3 remaining originals.Our property amenities include a common beach area, dock (day only), fire pits and grill area. Easily accommodates groups of 6 with its open space kitchen/dining/living area, two bedrooms and 1 & 1/2 bathrooms. You will appreciate the large deck with a swing and outdoor dining table . Swim, boat, hike, canoe, kayak or just relax by the campfire taking in a sunset or starry night sky. Fish from your boat or shanty for northern pike, walleye, and perch and more. Enjoy easy access public boat launch (1.5miles) and miles of groomed trails for ATVing, snowmobiling and cross-country/snowshoeing trails. Location, Location, Location!Our location (center of the UP) is one of our key features because of the variety of day-trip attractions within 1.5 hr drive from us. We are 10 minutes from lake Michigan and 45 minutes from lake Superior! That alone is pretty Great ;)Main attractions such as, the Big Spring aka Kitch-iti-kipi, Lake Michigan beaches, Lake Superior beaches, Pictured Rocks National park, Grand Island, Fayette State Park, Presque Isle Park/Marquette, Black Rocks, Seney wildlife refuge, Mackinaw Island, Mackinaw City and the Mighty Mackinaw Bridge to name a few. Also enjoy discovering the many waterfalls and lighthouses scattered throughout the Upper Peninsula. Speaking of day adventures, we are only four miles north of Downtown Manistique, a charming town that sits on the picturesque shoreline of Lake Michigan and the Manistique river. Wide open sandy beaches, and our two mile boardwalk trail are local and visitor favorites. Eat, shop, game at the local casino or enjoy a round of golf at beautiful Indian Lake golf course. The perfect nearly 100-year-old log cabin on the shore of Indian Lake with a new roof, windows, and storm doors! Welcome to Baapi Makwa Cabin#2 in Sunset View Resort, a small five-cabin rental community on two acres. This fully furnished log cabin will take you back to summer camp days and sunsets over Indian Lake will take your breath away. Rustic in look with modern amenities, i.e. WiFi, on-demand hot water, and streaming 50-inch T.V., child/teen/adult books, and games are available. Spend the day fishing, swimming, or relaxing. A 12-foot aluminum fishing boat with oars and life jackets is on site. Two designated parking spots at the cabin. Trailers, haulers, etc may be unloaded at the cabin and then moved to parking near the entrance. Watercrafts are to be brought in every evening due to rapidly changing weather on a large lake. All grounds and fire pits are for community use. Bring your own beach towels and fishing poles if needed! No pets. No AC. Cabin is 620 sq ft. Sleeps 8. 1 Queen (Main Brm), 1 full sofa bed (Living Rm), 4 twins (2nd Brm and sunroom). Guests may bring a boat only under 20 ft length due to lake depth/dock placement. We patronize the local economy and are as sustainable as possible, therefore we have varying colors and designs of sheets, towels etc. Cabin is cleaned by local professional company after each stay.
