Transportation : Personal transportation Hotel : You can book online or when you get there . Trip.com doesn’t show all the rooms it’s better to go there straight ❤️ Food : they have restaurants . Their food is teeeew good . It’s cheap ❤️ Environment : They are welcoming. . We had a good time . Since it’s winter we thought it’s gonna be too cold since it’s closer to the mountains. But to our surprise it’s warmer . Activities : They have a brochure that has all the activities that will take place on that day . It has prices and locations of Activities . Rooms : They are neat and our room has nice views

Wonderful accommodation with splendid views. Rooms are very spacious. Fully fitted kitchen, Dining and lounge area with an outdoor dinning and Braai area. Unit had a splash pool. Well Maintained facility. Lots of activities within the Resort and nearby

I went here for my mother's 40th birthday with a large group of family and u can say that the experience was amazing. I enjoy the Drakensburg very much because of the mountains and the simplistic nature if things. I am a city girl at heart but I loved staying here as it was a modernised mountain stay if that makes sense. Accommodation was beautiful I had fun playing putput and the table tennis and it was overall just a pleasing experience.

The views are spectacular. The chalets we booked are modern and clean. It is relaxing for a few days, but the activities are overpriced, so it could be a problem for a longer stay. Downside: We booked 1 room as a couple and the rest of the family booked a full chalet. The downside is if you do not book a full chalet, you share the chalet with strangers, where the entrance and entrance hall are shared. It was awkward for us as they had the lounge/kitchen and room, but left their door wide open, so when we came to our room, we were blasted with their noise and cooking smells. Our room just smelled like food. The full chalet is better as each room has their own en-suite bathroom and can accommodate families and friends, yet still giving everyone their privacy.

If you are a family renting only a 2 bedroom, you will be in my situation and to save you the lack of sleep and wasted money consider booking all rooms, if this is within your means, if not take your family to a place that will be more comfortable and whereby you'll feel more secure, relaxed and at ease without having to feel unsafe about allowing your kids back to the room alone because you dont know who you share that unit with. The above is a stress, therefore rethink this resort, before taking your family to go have fun and unwind.

Cayley Lodge is a beautiful resort with plenty to keep the family busy. We had units that overlooked the dam. The units were two bedroom 6 sleeper units and have a large open plan lounge, dining room and kitchen so you can chat whilst cooking. The kitchen is well equipped with a 4 plate gas stove and electric oven, a microwave oven, fridge, kettle and toaster. There is also a fireplace in the lounge section and a braai in the dining room section. The Resort staff are super efficient and friendly and will assist you with whatever you require. They have specific staff to keep you and your children entertained all day. We went down to the dam and the children had fun on the electric bumper boats. Our meal at the restaurant was delicious and the waitron staff were very attentive. We, as a family, had a wonderful time within the Resort and also outside the Resort, there is lots to do in that area.

The Drakensberg is truly one of the wonders of the world. The Lodge is well kept and pristine. There was some work being undertaken during our stay and seems they are expanding. During this time, we did not notice any construction noise before 8am and after 5pm. The are enough facilities on the lodge to keep you busy on the site. The Lodge is also well located in the area to explore other sites around the area. The Lodge has parking available - it is allocated per unit. The check in was quick and easy. Take extra few bags of wood with you if you like to light fires. They sell it at the reception. There is parking at your Unit - right outside. We had a self catering unit. The appliances were all new and modern. There was everything we needed. The rooms were all en-suite - well partitioned off - so each family member could retire to their room and get away and relax if they wanted to The cleaning service was fantastic and professional. The towels were great size. The Jacuzzi was an added bonus and great for relaxing after a day of hiking or tourism. Stop off at the Thokozani Tourism Info Centre and ask for advice on planning your trip around the area. They are such lovely people offering great insights and advice about routes. The journey between sites can be quite long. The SPA: Outstanding! There is an onsite spa. The team is fantastic and they have such a wonderful spirit of making you feel relaxed. Book in advance if you doing more than one massage. The service is professional and the massages were great. There is only one steam room so you share with your friends or family.

This has to be one of the most scenic regions of the Drakensberg. For that alone it should get a 5 star rating. However, a few issues make it not a perfect holiday destination. The road leading to the resort are terrible with potholes all over the place. Secondly, the sporting area is terrible with an all sports arena for tennis, football etc. Not what I expect from a top a resort. Finally the TV in the main lounge was too small to view properly. Other than that, the views are excellent and the staff amazing.

Let me start by saying that the accommodation is tops ! Their chalets are extremely well kept and neat .. so on the accommodation side , they get full marks ! BUT - Caley’s website promises this amazing “family” holiday and although they have all these activities , you’ve gotta literally pay for EVERYTHING ! This was disappointing .. I personally wouldn’t go back as I feel they are over-priced on their accommodation. Their “on-site” shop, where you can buy certain basics is very limited and also super expensive !
