Personal attention from the staff, the friendliness, the direct lift access to the room, the quality of the room, the pleasant bed linen, the many details in the room, the freshly prepared breakfast with Eggs Benedict with homemade Hollandaise sauce. Very high standard and incredible hotel. AMAZING! We will be back. Thanks to Rachelle and the whole Labotessa team.

We very much enjoyed our stay at this property. My husband actually thinks our stay on this property may have been one of the best hotel experiences he has ever had. We will certainly recommend the property to anyone visiting Cape Town. If we visit again we will absolutely book a room here.

First rate hotel in excellent central location in Cape Town. Staff throughout couldn't have been more helpful, both in pre-arrival communication, as well as while we were there. As others have said, lovely large rooms, well appointed, nice touches like free minibar and nibbles: all very comfortable indeed, and something of a calm and quiet oasis to return to from a day in lively Cape Town. Plus delicious breakfasts too. Highly recommend.

We booked this hotel on less than 24 hours notice after other plans fell through. Throughout the booking process, the communication with the hotel was excellent, even to the extent of their management team proactively calling whilst we were still abroad to nail down some final details. We don't normally rush into bookings, and were feeling a little bit unsure of whether we had made a good choice, but the pre-arrival experience was so good that we were not surprised to find a fantastic property on arrival. The rooms are huge, well-appointed, quiet and with very comfy beds, and lovely Diptyque toiletries. Numerous treats were left for the kids and for us, and the mini bar which was complimentary was well stocked (there were cheese, crackers, homous, cognac, soft drinks etc). Breakfast (included in the room rate) was fantastic, with a lovely secluded location in the square. But actually, none of the above is was made this stay special; what was really amazing were the team - every interaction was cheerful and helpful, they are clearly very proud of their property and of Cape Town, and spent a lot of time putting together detailed itineraries, booking restaurants and generally being so kind and accommodating. We didn't come across one dud, and I hope management is aware of what a special group they have! As with every stay, there are a few things that can be improved - the rooms are a little dark, we could have done with a few more towels (if we had asked, I am sure they would have been provided!), and although we did walk around the local area, we found it a little bit daunting, although the location is close to a lot of good attractions without itself being in a touristy area. We will definitely return the next time we are in Cape Town!

The elevator gets you directly into your suite. The suite itself is gorgeous. Large, with a sitting area with a nice view on Lions Head, a high eating table and complimentary mini bar which is restocked every day during your visit. Excellent shower and large comfy bed. Breakfast is only a la carte and it’s not clear what is included in the rate. I should have preferred a continental breakfast served directly at the table or as a buffet and some hot options afterwards. It’s a bit strange they bill an extra coffee, yoghurt,… Staff is extremely welcoming and helpful in planning your day, reserving a restaurant, giving advice. We had a beautiful stay !

Labotessa can be summed up in 3 words. 'A Perfect Stay' Or perhaps - 'Can't be Topped' Wait, maybe it's - 'Fabulous Beyond Belief' A 17th-century building with 2024 and beyond amenities and hospitality. Our 3rd floor suite - accessed by private elevator - was beautifully decorated with outstanding attention to details, from the heated bathroom floor, perfectly stocked mini kitchenette & bar, high thread count sheets, comfortable furniture and so much more. The staff can NOT be beat! Rachelle Hoy is a gem, she responded to every email within 24 hours and arranged for our full day tour to the wine country plus half day tour along the coast, as well as suggesting (and booking) several restaurants. Breakfast and lunch in their small cafe mirrors the 5-star review. Johan, the owner has impeccable taste. He goes to the head of the class in the world of hospitality and if he ever decides to open another boutique hotel - in any country - we will be follow.
