Bellevue At Trinity Beach

We stayed at Bellevue a few weeks ago for my birthday. I'd booked directly with Laura a few months before our stay. She seemed pleasant in our dealings. When we checked in, we found the apartment (no.10) to be very spacious with a great view of the ocean. Unfortunately, the standard of cleaning was disappointing. Most surfaces needed wiping properly, including a fake plant in the main living area that was covered in dust, and there were stains on some of the decorative cushions (I took pics of the plant and soiled cushions). Our kids had settled in quickly after our long journey, so I chose to hide the crusty pillows and wipe the surfaces myself. (Throughout our stay we came across other poorly cleaned items including stained bed blankets, dusty aircons and dirty dishes in the cupboard). On our first night about 9:30pm when getting ready for bed, we found that we could only lock one of the three patio doors. The sliding door could be locked without a key, but the two swing doors needed a key, which we were not provided with. I called the after hours reception number and spoke to Laura to ask how we lock the doors. She seemed shocked as to why we were questioning why the doors didn't lock, and asked whether I was worried about anyone getting in, and why we would want to lock the doors as we were on the second level. She said that ”no one had ever had a problem or mentioned it”, and it's apparently ”very safe”. When I explained that, while yes, someone getting into our apartment is a concern, it's for peace of mind as we had our kids with us. Laura said ”It's late, I'm tired, what do you want me to do?”. Her attitude was disappointing. I mean, the doors have key locks on them, why not provide guests with the key?? We were able to enjoy the view, the pool and being so close to the beach. We liked that the apartment was spacious, but overall it was quite expensive for such poor presentation. The whole apartment just needs a decent clean, which I mentioned upon checking out. All in all, yes the view from an ocean room is great, but you can get better value for money and better standards and service elsewhere.

Il luogo era vicino all'aeroporto di Cairns, facile da trovare e vicino a un pub. La stanza era tipica del tipo di motel ”auto fuori front”. Nessuno era alla reception quando arrivammo, ma sono stati controllati da un membro del personale del pub. Era molto piacevole e spiegava la carenza di personale che ogni impresa stava vivendo a causa del COVID . La stanza era pulita e più che adeguata per la 1 notte. Siamo stati svegliati da altri ospiti alle 2, ma questo è ovviamente non è colpa del motel. Il pub vicino alla porta aveva pochi clienti e un menu limitato. E' cosi' difficile giudicare ovunque nei tempi. Il motel non ha fatto nulla di male e ha fornito quello che volevamo, doccia calda, TV e wifi che funzionava. Macca era vicino alla porta, quindi il colazione era disponibile se volevi.

Un ostello felice e socialmente abitabile! Siamo arrivati tardi dal nostro volo, ma non c'era problema al check-in. Avevamo una stanza privata a causa di un lungo viaggio e era spazioso e confortevole. Il personale era molto utile per i viaggi, il trasporto, ecc! La colazione inclusa è stato molto conveniente e bello in mattinata. Una bella piscina per rilassarsi durante il giorno. Si consiglia questo ostello a viaggiatori soli, gruppi e coppie :)

Address: 331-337 Lake St, Cairns City QLD 4870 Phone: (07) 4041 6605 If you are unfortunate enough to be allocated this unit there are things you should be advised The Edge Apartments Cairns is situated in Cairns only 220 yards from the Northen end of the Esplanade and the Coral Sea. It has 2 outdoor pools and spacious air-conditioned apartments. COMMENT In June 2023 We found our apartment 205 for 10 days to NOTt to be of 4star standard at all. PRO: The bedlinen and bathroom towels were very clean and of good quality. The air conditioning worked. The ceiling fans worked. The apartment was spacious. The fridge worked but bottom of door shelving missing. Inconvenient if you wanted to store water bottles etc. CONS: ” Each unit at the Edge has a flat-screen TV”., which was NOT working and had to be re-connected by guest. “Free Wi-Fi” NOT available in unit 205 – we were informed by office unless you wanted to stand outside of office area to connect. Apartment was dark, - lighting in all rooms inadequate and woefully dim and outdated. Lighting in laundry area was badly positioned – and here there were no instructions on how machine worked. *Vertical Blinds in poor state and need maintenance or replacement. *All doors (screen and glass sliding) need maintenance to run smoothly. *The furniture was inappropriate (apart from 2 leather sofas) and badly arranged. *The ambience was noisy. The decor throughout the apartment – wasn’t.!! Except 2 pictures hung almost at ceiling. – 1 small mirror in dark hallway., and a wall clock. (All 15 years or more in age) *No rugs or furnishings to soften the décor or the echo sounding throughout the apartment. *Coffee table in bad state. *Dining table satisfactory but serviced by 2 different types of chairs. *The bathroom needed maintenance/upgrade (and pictures I have taken show much damage to outer base of shower, mould along the wall.) *The kitchens come equipped with very basic essentials. A microwave and dishwasher., utensils for cooking on very old worn stove. “Some units have balconies with sea or mountain views”, others, like ours, at 205 had overgrown foliage with NO views. The Edge Apartments Cairns has an outdoor entertainment area with barbecue facilities and free on-site private parking. *The Rain forestation Nature Park is 11 miles from The Edge Apartments. Kuranda Scenic Railway and Skyrail Rainforest Cableway are only a 10-minute drive away.
