Hotel in zona Cairns Esplanade Lagoon, Cairns

Just okay :/ The staff was great and very friendly. However, the hotel quality did not match up with the standard we have seen at other Shangri - La Hotels. The paint on our door was badly peeling and the padded benches in our room were stained. Two of the outlets in our room did not have power. We ordered room service the first night and the rice that was sent was hard a a rock and stuck together. The location was great and the potential is there but this hotel is in need of some upkeep and a standards check. For any other hotel this would not be as big of a concern, but for the price and expectation of a Shangri- La Hotel, we were expecting a bit more.

This is definitely a place that is orientated more towards families rather than couples. What was good was the friendly staff throughout the resort, the food and beverage service and the convenient underground parking. Stayed in a deluxe king room on the fifth floor overlooking Cairns city which appears to have been recently upgraded. Room smelt damp on entry and after the first shower it was evident why. It is hard to believe that someone designed the shower so that water flowed directly onto the floor and out into the living area even when you had the least amount of water flow possible. Wee bit of a design flaw I would suggest. Also, when booking a King size bed it would be a good idea to ask guests if they want a second bed in the room along with connecting rooms. I personally have no wish to have connecting rooms unless I am staying as a family. This door along with the front door were not particularly well sealed and you could here plenty of noise from outside and next door. The balcony is marketed as being intimate in yet has one chair and being a connecting room has nothing between you and your neighbours balcony. Hardly intimate. Based on the reviews I am sure this place is perfect for families however, there are better choices for couples elsewhere in Cairns.

I had deluxe sea view double room.Very nice view.The best location,the shore broadwalk is just next to the hotel(can see at my balcony).I’ve read reviews saying it’s old,but actually it’s maintained in acceptable manner.Don’t expect luxurious 5stars design,it’s more like resort style hotel.The pool is big,with a small heated pool.Gym is small but sufficient,always empty.The rooms are clean, tidied up daily.Be careful the bathtub only has half glass covered up, no flooding would happen if being careful. Very nice room though. Helpful and nice front desk staff. Very good for value.

優點：地理位置好。對面就是孩子喜歡的無花果遊樂園（fig tree playground）.去免費公共遊泳池（cairns esplanade lagoon ）也很近。1樓有**。早餐6:30-12:00點，是點菜的（西餐咖啡），選擇包含早餐是明智的選擇。酒店是2001裝修的，裏面還有風扇，百葉窗的窗簾，有特色。 缺點：因為房間之間都是百葉窗隔離的，所以房間之間不隔音。遮光效果不好。床軟，枕頭不舒服。服務水平可以再提高，因為延後了退房日期，需要多次check in，不能一次性在前台搞定。不同服務員打掃房間不一樣，有時候不給放免費水，有時候不給換浴巾，好在衹要打電話要的話，都給拿。費用是周邊酒店裡最貴的。

Esperienza fantastica. Molto bella proprietà. Molto personale.Abbiamo prenotato la nostra esperienza di riva con loro. Divertirci davvero. Personale utile. Adorava i loro apprezzamenti dolci di cioccolato dolci. Aggiornarono la nostra stanza per una stanza di vista sugli oceani.

Molto grande lobby da iniziare con. Bello hotel in una posizione molto conveniente. Abbiamo una buona vista vista sul mare, che è grande. Solo un breve passo ai mercati notturni. Woolworths è ancora più vicino. La fame della selvaggina è proprio all'opuscolo della strada. Quindi tutto è così utile.

The location is excellent, with spectacular views of the ocean - if you had an Oceanview room. I didn’t originally because my travel agent messed up. But the manager, Richard, was super helpful and was able to give me one after some work on his part. My room was spacious, clean, and had a great view on the top floor. The housekeeping was very good (they promptly replaced a worn out chair), the laundry was prompt, the premises were clean and quiet, and they had a full buffet breakfast. The best part for me was the air conditioning, which kept the room cool even when it was 94 F outside. Also, the location was less than a km from grocers and about a km from some nice restaurants on the Esplanade. So the hotel suited me perfectly.

La mia famiglia e io abbiamo recentemente soggiornato qui per esplorare il resto di Cairns. Il check-in è stato veloce e facile e la nostra camera è stata pronta un'ora prima di quanto ci aspettava. Abbiamo soggiornato in una camera Superior (n. 459), composta da letti x2 Regina. La stanza era situata verso il retro del resort con una piscina più piccola/quiter e un parcheggio a terra, e la stanza stessa era senza spot con sufficienti asciugamani/prodotti di pulizia per la famiglia. Il resort stesso è coperto in una ricca follietta e diverse piscine, insieme ad un ristorante italiano e flamingos un bar/restaurante che offre una vasta gamma di cibi. A causa della malattia del coliac, i miei figli hanno avuto un lavoro di servizio, sia in alto che in alto, per soddisfare le loro esigenze, e entrambi offrono cibi senza glutine.

Thoroughly enjoyed out time at Blue Lagoon Resort. Booking and checkin was easy. The reception staff where friendly, attentive and professional. Our one bedroom unit was well equipped, spotlessly clean and well maintained. Bed was super comfy. Although we had no trouble it was on the second floor up four flights of stairs with no elevator, some may find this difficult. The resort has two pools, one heated, that are also clean and well maintained. Location is great with several restaurants in easy walking distance. Have breakfast in the onsite restaurant. The eggs benedict was delicious and the servings are generous. The price was reasonable and cheaper than most other options around the northern beaches of Cairns.

We just spent a fantastic week at the Alamanda. Before we arrived they arranged transport for us from (and to) the Cairns airport through Exemplar, an excellent shuttle service. A small discount is applied to the transport charge when the Alamanda makes the booking. From arrival and check in until we reluctantly said goodbye, every staff member including Kiley the manager were helpful and friendly. The kitchen/living area of our oceanfront one bedroom suite (#35) was on the top floor with our spacious en suite bedroom, and a second bathroom with shower, on the floor below. The furnishings are modern, there is Miele equipment in the kitchen and laundry, and the entire place was immaculately clean. The wonderful view from our big balcony took in the beach, palm trees, and one of the three swimming pools. The main pool was being renovated but unlike other reviewers, we never heard any construction noise from it. There was an occasional sound or two from what was probably routine maintenance or minor construction, but it was never a nuisance. The Alamanda is at the end of the main street that runs along the beach and is situated such that the street turns before it passes in front of the side of the building where our suite was located. As far as we could tell this was the only accommodation in Palm Cove that didn’t have the street between it and the beach, so no traffic noise. It is a short walk to the many restaurants, bars, and shops on the main street (DO NOT miss the restaurant Vivo - see separate review). Restaurant La Mesa at the Mantra is very good and gives a discount to Accor members, but only if you have your Accor card with you. There is a small well-stocked grocery store very near Alamanda, and a short distance past the store is the Palm Cove Tavern and bottle shop. Gabi in the office were eager to help us sort out an excursion to Kuranda via the historic train from Freshwater, and back down the mountain via cable car. One tour was based from Cairns which would have required us to pay separately for transport to the train station and back from the cable car station. Upon looking at the many brochures in the office we found a brochure for Brett’s one-day Kuranda tour that originates in Port Douglas with a pick up in Palm Cove, eliminating the need to pay for separate transport. It pays to look closely at the brochures. Gabi booked our tour with Brett’s excellent tour (see separate review) and the charge was put on our room. We have told friends and family about our wonderful stay here and some of them are already planning their visits. We will definitely be back!
