Lanier Islands Legacy Lodge

As a meeting planner, I've held several small scale and large scale conferences at Legacy Lodge over the years. I'm always amazed by the professionalism, courtesy and attention to detail that the events team and the entire hotel staff display day in and out. They consistently go above and beyond to provide top notch service and truly understand what it means to be in the hospitality business (which seems to be a thing of the past at some larger chain hotels). I truly enjoy working with their sales and events team (shout out to the 2 Melissas), they make my job that much easier and treat each of my conference attendees as a valued guest.

I went to the legacy lodge on a business conference and had a fantastic stay. If I had gotten breakfast at Sidney’s on the first day I would have eaten there everyday just to chat with Sable. Hunter at Bullfrogs also gave some solid recommendations along with some great stories. While the venue is awesome it’s really is the staff that makes the place what it is and me wanting to come back

A lovely place! God willing, we will return to spend more time. Great looking golf course. We didn’t have enough time, this time, but we’d love to come back. We did enjoy the salt water pool. Firepits around. Great walking trails! Quiet, professional staff.

We stayed here for a business trip over 3 nights. The drive into the hotel is just beautiful. The grounds are immaculate. The hotel lobby is impressive. We can’t wait to return to this beautiful gem. The hotel staff are wonderful. I really only have a couple of complaints. The first one is coffee. We love to sit out on the balcony and enjoy coffee in the morning and evening. They do have a coffee maker in the room. It’s just enough for a couple of cups. I went to the lobby to find coffee. The front desk said I had to go downstairs to the Frog restaurant. The Frog restaurant told me their coffee machine was broke. With a four or five star restaurant and the prices charged , there should be free coffee 24-7 for guest. Breakfast at Sydney’s was just ok. For the prices charged for the buffet, there should be more variety. It is very basic. No pancakes , French toast or waffles. They did have previously frozen institutional danishes that were lacking flavor. The eggs were very runny. The waiter staff and manager in the restaurant were awesome. Also I got a bill for breakfast, that was slid under my door. I paid for breakfast after I ate. Don’t let these little things in my review stop you from staying here. These little things could be fixed easily. You will enjoy your stay here. We look forward to returning next year.

It’s a nice hotel, but there some things that need updating. The room itself was nice, but it was a little outdated in terms of decor and the bathroom was also small. Also, it would have been nice to have an in room safe instead of having to ask for one. The windows could also be a little bigger or there needs to be a little more lights, as the room could get a little dark. Other than that the room was very nice. The staff were very friendly, and the elevators were a little slow, but that was not a problem. However, it would’ve been nice if the hotel required key card access on the elevator an to get into the building from any side or back entrance. Overall, I would probably give this place another chance.

My Executive Director and I booked a lake house for a 2 day work retreat. Pros: -With the exception of the phone rep who I spoke to upon departure, staff were extraordinary! -Check in was simple and convenient. We were also able to check in early so that we could get right to work. This was fantastic and extremely helpful. - The actual experience of Lake Lanier was wonderful. We enjoyed the scenic breaks from work to go grab meals and each dining and staffing experience was exemplary. The place is beautiful. Cons: - The actual lake house was a disappointment. Not really a view of the lake. The upgrades advertised were made with subpar materials and/or installed with poor workmanship. It’s cute at first glance, but then you really begin to notice the series of imperfections that overall make it look like a cheap diy renovation. -The shower pressure was dismal in one bathroom. I had to stop using it and go to the master bathroom in my ED’s suite. - The biggest issue- roaches. I know this is a lake house and we’re in the woods, but the amount of them was unacceptable. We adhered to the sign in the home and never opened doors, but they continuously got in from the door leading to the deck. We literally watched it happen multiple times. The final straw was one crawling across the bed I was sleeping in at 530am, resulting in me having enough and checking out early. -I called the front desk to let them know we were leaving and had my first and only unpleasant customer service experience. The rep continuously cut me off in the middle of my questions to answer them. (Which were incorrect answers bc she incorrectly assumed what my question was going to be.) And when I very respectfully advised her that we were leaving around 630 am bc of the roach issue, she was in my humble opinion, quite dismissive. Overall, it was close to perfect, and we considered bringing our leadership team for our annual retreat, which has about a 25k budget. But ultimately, the lodging experience will keep us at Lake Oconee.

The place to stay! Large, comfortable rooms, clean, salt water pool, gym, restaurants and much more. We have stayed here twice and highly recommend it to everyone. You can even rent golf carts to tour the grounds and see all there is on the property. Very friendly staff.

My husband, myself and our 1 year old stayed here for a night as we’re traveling. We called ahead to get a room with a bathtub for our little one. As we entered the property it was absolutely beautiful. There are so many activities/restaurants. The valet and bell men were fantastic(5 stars). We checked in at the front desk and double checked that we had a bathtub and was told yes by the woman working. We looked outside and saw the pool and it was very nice. We were excited to take our little one swimming. He was cooped up in the car and needed to get some energy out! The bellmen took our belongings to our room on the 4th floor and helped us unload. As we were unloaded we observed there was no bathtub in the room. My husband went back downstairs to see what we could do. After awhile he came back up stairs and said they were working on it so we sat and waited. Eventually the bellmen came back up to move us to the 1st floor which had a room with a tub. The room was located right next to the ice machine, 10ft from the restaurant and 15 feet from the pool entrance. There was constant traffic. We waited so long that by the time we got into our new room it was too late to take our one year old swimming. In the morning we got up early to take him swimming but found out it was closed due to someone pooping in the pool and it would be closed until that evening so we never got to take him swimming. Unfortunately this time was a poor stay but based off the overall nice staff and how pretty the property is and all the extra activities there are to do there we hope to try this place again. This place is more of a week/weekend stay then one night.

My good friends had a beautiful wedding here! Great staff! Great Food! Clean Rooms! Every one in the staff was supper helpful and nice! I will defiantly be back when I have more time to play a round of golf!
