Dbc Hostel

The room was extremely dirty. There were hairs all over the ‘Clean’ bedding. As well as the fact that the bins in our room were still full. Staff moved us into a new room yet the second room still remained just as bad. Not only that but all the walls in the place were stained. The rooms were incredibly small and barely big enough for two people.

I booked A&O for one night stay via Agoda. Initially I called the property to book directly but I was informed that they are not accepting direct booking! We family of four travelled from Bahrain and it was a long journey via Dubai. We reached at the hostel at around 10 PM, Mr Ken greeted us. When we told him of our prior reservation, he shocked us by checking that property is full and not a single vacant room is available! And that, Agoda is responsible for overbooking. When we contacted Agoda customer care, they excused and offered refund! Long distance travel and denied check-in, we all were very frustrated. Mr Ken was very helpful and suggested nearby hotel options but it was night time, national day celebrations and hotels were full to capacity. Thus we suffered for almost 3-4 hours. No one can understand our agony. Agoda caused us mental and physical trauma. It's almost 1 week, we didn't receive refund from Agoda. I would say Agoda is a big Scam and fraud. If property was fully booked, they didn't bother to inform us and left us wandering in a new country in midnight. MY SUGGESTION NEVER EVER BOOK VIA AGODA TO AGODA BEING CHEATED ! Finally, special thanks to Mr Ken and a female (Bar receptionist) ,who tried to help us alot and allowed us to sit there till we get alternative.

Went for a Football Weekend with 9 of us - 3 separate rooms - 2 on 4th Floor and 1 on 2nd. Hostel was extremely busy. The breakfast was quite poor but it's a hostel so can't expect anything major. Staff were friendly. Rooms were ok (2) + good for 1. No changing Aircon lower than 17 and never worked anyway. Beds were comfy - Bunk bed nearly broke one of the lads ankles due to bottom step or there lack of. Use of online request for food and drink was never looked at in half hour. Recommendation that the site provides lists of places to go for various stays whether it be Night Life, Historic, Picturesque or even places to stay away from like the local bar along the road.

The bar is way over priced , they only serve sweet (not dry) red wine and refuse to serve tap water to wash the revolting red wine down with. I came for the comedy night, the comedy is good, the bar is a major put off,if it's an indication of the general quality it doesn't bode well

We stayed 4 nights in the hostel and the first 2 were perfectly fine. Unfortunately the third night we got new roommates who left food and blood in the room.. the guy at the reception said that the cleaning was already gone and that I knew that I booked a shared dorm.. I told him that sharing a dorm is no problem for us but not with ones that leave the plane nasty! He gave us an alternative in a female dorm but that room didn’t had AC and the plug ins in the bunkbeds didn’t work so we were not able to charge our phones during the night. I would not recommend this place to be honest

Rooms never cleaned, the breakfast staff very rude, good location though. I left my AirPods in the room and tried to contact reception with no luck, I have been tracking them on find my iPhone and they have been removed from the hostel (assuming by a member of staff). The main AO hostel contact number and email just say to get in touch with reception at the hostel.
