The Fish Hotel

We went to the fish hotel for my birthday celebration and what an incredible experience it was! The staff were very welcoming and attentive, they looked after us very well. We stayed in a hideaway cabin and we were blown away with the size, design and luxurious feel. The little extras really made this experience so special and we will most definitely be revisiting in the future.

From the moment we walked into the reception at the Lodge we were so impressed.We were greeted by Gavin who gave us such a warm welcome and informed us that we had been given a complimentary upgrade to a suite at the coach house. (Due to it being my birthday) Our room was beautiful, modern,clean,warm and welcoming. We had a note from the manager saying Happy Birthday and a lovely little box of chocolates. The staff were all so helpful,polite and friendly. Breakfast was wonderful with lots of choice. Service in the bar on our first night was a little slow, but we weren’t in a rush and it was relaxing sitting by the fire. We would thoroughly recommend The Fish Hotel. We had a fantastic stay. Thank you to you all.

The accommodation was tired and dated, the service at the booking in desk was slow but not as slow as the service in the restaurant! The hotel recommend a 'country walk' to Broadway. It is a complete and utter muddy swamp caused, apparently, by an electric fence beside the path which forces everyone to walk in the same line. Answer? REMOVE THE ELECTRIC FENCE and allow us to find our way past the water running out of the woods and then the path will not be so churned up - it is just about impassable a yard or two from the stile leading to the path.

We stayed in a hideaway hut which was super cute. Service was amazing throughout, really felt like a 5* property Can’t fault it, breakfast was great. Mini bar is included. Views are great, and really close to Broadway which was beautiful at night with the Christmas lights.

This is not a luxury hotel and it is not suitable for families with young children. Incredibly disappointing rooms (very old, tired furniture and decor). Misleading photos and description of room configurations on their website meant that our child had to sleep next to a toilet. "Private patio" was actually next to main walk-way and overlooked by other rooms. Reception staff so unaccommodating. Look elsewhere to stay as there are lots of lovely places in the Cotswolds.

Our room was very comfortable. Lots of little details taken care of. It wasn’t very private to though, anyone walking to the stables rooms could see straight in. Blinds have privacy, but then the view was lost! Unfortunately the service is where we were disappointed. The staff were friendly, and worked so hard. They were just disorganised and sooo slow. Our pre dinner cocktail arrived after our starter! It took 45 mins to arrive (on both nights) . Breakfast was a treat. Despite slow to be cooked it was worth the wait and we weren’t in a hurry. Comfortable, relaxed but slow service.
