Although Xi Shuang Ban Na UrCove claims they are a smoke-free hotel, from what I have seen this is not really true. I suggest People who are allergic to cigarette smoke or have health issues related to cigarette smoke definitely go somewhere else. I saw guests as well as hotel employees openly smoking in the front lobby of this hotel. Front desk clerks and supervisor saw this but not only said nothing to the offenders but when I complained about this, the front desk clerk ignored me and glared at me for complaining. Bedroom: very spacious and clean. beddings and sheets were very clean and comfortable. Toilet: was a very new style and with a temperature toilet seat Shower area: It was a disaster. The glass panel dividing the toilet and the shower area was poorly installed, so water from the shower area leaked everywhere. It was quite dangerous because the floor outside the shower was a smooth piece of floor tile. My wife almost slipped and fell down. We immediately told the front desk that night, and all they did was send someone to wipe up the water that's all. There was no follow-up after that. Breakfast: This has got to be the worst hotel I have ever been to regarding breakfast. The majority of the breakfast items were Chinese food which I have no complaints about, although I do not eat Chinese breakfast. The biggest problem was, when we went for breakfast after 9:15 am there were lots of emptied food containers and plates which was used to hold breakfast food items. Breakfast was supposed to end at 10:00 am. 9:15 am NO croissant, Not even a simple slice of bread which I can make toast with. I also checked the Chinese food items and lots of containers were emptied as well. I then went to ask a staff where I could at least get a piece of bread. Her answer was, there isn't anymore sliced bread and what you see is what you get. There was hardly anything to eat?!?!?! I was furious and I demanded to have a couple of pieces of sliced bread. In the end, kitchen staff Mr. Wang came to my rescue and cooked me and my wife each two fried eggs. On top of it, Mr. Wang went out to get me sliced bread from outside the hotel so that my wife will at least have something to eat for breakfast. On the second day of breakfast, there was no coffee after 9:15 am as the coffee machine went into cleaning mode for at least half an hour. The chief of Chef did end up helping me to get a cup of coffee but from what I can see, this hotel is NOT ready to receive international guests. Totally disappointed in the Urcove Xi Shuang Ban Na. Totally not the Hyatt standard at all. Amazing Stay at Lushan Xishang Banshan Hotel in Xishuangbanna! Highly Recommend! I recently stayed at Lushan Xishang Banshan Hotel during my trip to Xishuangbanna, and I have to say it was an unforgettable experience. From start to finish, the service was top-notch. The staff was incredibly friendly and kind, always going above and beyond to make my stay comfortable. They took excellent care of me, washing my clothes, tidying up my room every day, and providing me with the cleanest, most beautiful room I’ve ever stayed in. My room had a fantastic hot tub, and I loved soaking in it while watching the scenic views of the city. The bright lights from the buildings lit up the skyline at night, creating such a relaxing atmosphere. It was the perfect spot to unwind. The breakfast was also fantastic — a great way to start each day with a variety of delicious options. One of the highlights was the late check-out, which really made my departure stress-free. A huge part of my experience was the driver the hotel recommended for me. Not only was he an excellent driver, but he also became like a brother to me. He genuinely cared about my safety and helped interpret for me at the markets, which was a huge help. We spent the day visiting great restaurants and shopping spots, and his joy and enthusiasm made the whole experience so much more enjoyable. He also took me to some famous religious landmarks, where I got to experience the local culture and history in a way I never would have without his guidance. His kindness and attention to detail made my trip feel even more special. This amazing service was all arranged by the hotel, and I’m so grateful for their recommendation. They really made sure I had everything I needed, and I couldn’t have asked for a better stay. All in all, I couldn't have asked for a better stay.
