Iglika Hotel Borovets

A last minute ski trip. We booked direct with the hotel cheaper than ***********! Staff were warm & welcoming, keen to please. Hotel was warm (rooms very hot!), clean & modern. Hotel room has a mini bar & nespresso coffee machine please note all are chargeable. Lots of USB ports as well as plugs! Only English speaking TV station was CNN. Facilities - spa lovely if a bit hot for me! Pool could do with being a fraction warmer. Boot & ski room is chargeable for leaving your kit in if hired from elsewhere. We used snow masters next door & stored our kit there each night Food - was ok not a massive choice, could have been a little hotter (top tip take from the bottom of the pile!) Breakfast limited choice of yoghurt & cereal but lots of hot options & bread. Delicious organic apple juice. Coffee served 4-5 but again no removal from the dining room! We ate in the hotel for 4 nights. Children struggled a little but there was always french fries, plain pasta & bread so could always manage. Only real quibble would be the echo within the dining room making meals noisy. Please note they do not let you even take a coffee from the buffet with you everything has to be consumed within the dining room. Hotel well situated for easy access to both ski areas. Would stay there again.

Stayed here before but the hotel has improved greatly now it's been renovated - it's lovely. Very modern, clean, good food, friendly staff and close to the slopes. My one and only recommendation to management is to put a non slip surface around the pool area. There were many children in the pool splashing and the life guard told them off which is a shame. You can't stop children from having fun and splashing! One man slipped over there was so much water on the wooden flooring. To save the hotel from any claims, this could be easily rectified with non slip matting which wouldn't cost too much. Other than that the hotel is excellent and I would definitely recommend it.

We stayed as a group of friends in Feb. It’s a decent property. The public areas are modern, comfortable, and very clean! I had no issues with any staff, they were always courteous, helpful and friendly. The food was probably a bit basic, but what was there was definitely fresh and tasted good. It was constantly replenished. The restaurant staff were very diligent and worked hard to maintain cleanliness and a quick turnaround. The bedrooms are definitely small, but comfortable and modern. It’s in a very good location, quiet but convenient. I would stay here again.

Don’t be fooled by the old feature of . This place has been refurbed and it’s great. Half has been done and I believe the rest will be done by end of 2022. Rooms come with bathrobes, slippers, super comfy beds and are modern and stylish with a great bathroom. Buffet breakfast is ace. We didn’t try dinner as we eat out as a rule. Spa is excellent. Selection of saunas, steam rooms and ice room. Nice sized swimming pool with a lifeguard. Massages on site. All spa is included in price as is the half board buffet. Factor that in when booking. Normally this stuff is extra and bumps up the price. All this included and the lovely staff makes this a great deal in my mind. The on site ski hire is very reasonable and the kit is modern. Lessons also available that are very reasonably priced. All in all value for money. It’s not the cheapest hotel in borovets nor the most expensive but it’s worth every penny in my mind. Oh and the cocktails… amazing. You must try them - so good!

Our family had a brilliant skiing holiday staying at Hotel Iglika. There was tons of tasty buffet food each day, the spa and pool were a great size and bedrooms were clean and spacious. Special thanks to Hristo, the waiter who was so kind and attentive with our toddler, Mia!

We stayed here with our teenagers for a ski trip. I am a complete beginner and the boys and my husband can ski, Borovets is a great resort for that mix. Iglika palace is just off the Main Street in a great spot close to the slopes and main hire centre. It’s perfectly quiet and tucked away yet convenient. Having been recently renovated it was very chic and modern in a cozy way. The room were very spacious (we had a delux room with balcony and the same for the kids). It was nicely decorated and we had no problems with the wet room. We all liked the food but I think it might get mundane after a while. My only complaints were the staff (except the barman and night porter) were all a bit stern and the hotel was too hot! However I’d definitely book again.

We stayed in one of the two bedroom rooms which was lovely and spacious. As the other reviews mentioned it did contain a proper wet room but it dries quickly and didn’t bother us. The hotel is central to everything you need; to the lifts, the gondola and all the bars and restaurants. The spa in the hotel is excellent! The pool is lovely and it also has steam, sauna and ice bath facilities. We had massages which were brilliant and very reasonable. The bar area is modern, welcoming and a great place to relax. We found the restaurant to be perfectly adequate for half board. The breakfast was varied as was the dinner. The hotel is spotless and always has cleaning staff hoovering and washing the floors. We’ll definitely be booking for next year.

Check in was very efficient, all staff helpful and friendly. Our room was spacious and clean, the cleaners were very good every day keeping our room tidy and clean and with fresh towels. We did have an issue with the shower water not draining as others have mentioned however it was quickly resolved and no further problems. Breakfast and evening meals the staff ate very tentative and there was also a table to sit regardless of time. The food was plentiful and always something to choose from, The ski storage was good, and staff again very helpful. The spa area is also good and worth a visit. The whole hotel is very clean and tidy and all the staff work very hard to maintain a high standard. We have stayed in other hotels in Borovets but would definitely choose to stay at the Iglika again.

The hotel itself was modern and comfortable. The main issue we had was with the reception and boot room staff. We were charged for private equipment storage by the boot room operator (who only accepted cash). When this was raised to the reception staff they were not at all helpful and became quite argumentative. Furthermore. On the final day, we'd booked a massage whilst waiting for our airport coach. My partner went after me and was chaced afterwards into the toilet, staff banging on the door. Two staff members waited for her outside, whilst she freshened up, then escorted her to reception to pay. I'd offered to pay on checkout earlier but was told to come back afterwards or I may be double charged as it wasn't on their system at that point...
