Hotel in zona Botticelli-Eiche, Bonn

This modern hotel backs on to Bonn main railway station, a few minutes walk from the tourist sites in the centre of town, and on the edge of a lovely historic residential district which includes the botanic gardens which are well worth visiting. There is a ”green” supermarket next door to the hotel, and a good bakery across the road. So an excellent location overall. Rooms are quite spacious, beds comfortable, large TV. No coffee making facilities. One gets a Bonn travel card for the duration of one's stay: which is a nice addition. The one significant downside is that one does hear quite a bit of noise from the trains and the station. More than in some other hotels we have stayed in that back on to railway stations. My partner slept well, I did not. Freight trains went past every 15 minutes or so throughout the night. Bizarrely, when I had asked on the first day about a possible room change to the road side of the building (10 euros more, to *business class”) I was told there were no trains at night! Would I stay again if visiting Bonn? Probably yes. I would try the rooms on the road side.

Abbiamo soggiornato per una coppia di notti al Kameha Grand a Bonn. La posizione è grande per camminare e ciclismo e circa 15 minuti di auto dal centro di Bonn dall'altra parte del fiume. Molte strade ciclabili molto sicure ovunque. La nostra suite junior era grande e molto comoda. stranamente, il minibar era vuoto, ma non ho capito perché. Il stile non sarebbe stato delizioso per tutti, ma mi piaceva, e l'hotel è inondato di luce. La colazione era molto buona con le offerte abituali. Ci siamo serviti la piscina al terzo piano del bagno, che era riscaldata e guardava il Reno. Abbiamo trovato il personale estremamente amichevole, utile e conosciuto in tutto il tempo. Uber è stato usato per andare in giro a Bonn, anche se il servizio è venuto solo di recente a Bonn e il servizio è stato un po' patching. Preparatevi ad aspettare più tempo di quanto avreste in città più grandi come Berlino. Non abbiamo provato nessuno dei ristoranti della Kameha, perché ci siamo trovati solo per un po'. Se qualcuno ha bisogno di una raccomandazione, prova Oscar in der Remise, circa 8 minuti di auto. Per i viaggiatori in Germania, portate i soldi perché il paese è ancora indietro e un po' analogo. Il bellissimo giardino di birra Rheinlust circa 10 minuti di distanza non accetta alcuna forma di carte di credito. Alcuni conducenti di taxi hanno anche lottato con il pagamento elettronico. La posizione è eccellente, davanti è dietro il fiume Reyes e dietro l'Università di Bonn. Vive molto vicino alla residenza di Beethoven. Cammino 10-15 minuti; l'hotel è stato ristrutturato all'interno, la stanza è piccola; Le strutture sono un po'vecchie, specialmente le elettricità. Per la prima volta ho visto la porta aperta manualmente. Il servizio del personale dell'hotel è molto buono. Il dentifricio è trascinato in un bagno di acqua, e deve essere aggiustato alla reception circa tre stelle rispetto all'hotel cinese

This hotel operated as a Hilton until December 2022. According to the staff there, the hotel closed for 5 days around Christmas and reopened on 1 January 2023 as the Dorint Bonn Hotel. Basically everything seems to have remained unchanged, including staff. The hotel is in a good central location and has underground parking (€26 per day). The rooms are spacey and comfortable. The windows can be opened for fresh air, though this may not be a plus for rooms facing the busy bridge road. The bed was comfortable. A tablet provides information in the hotel and more. The bathroom is functional but poorly ventilated, after a shower tiled walls, counter etc all wet from condensation. I had booked including breakfast, which was excellent. In conclusion, a solid hotel and good choice for Bonn.

I can't speak highly enough of the excellent and friendly service we received from the managers at this hotel. They went out of their way to accommodate us - 2 coachfuls of Scouts (83 people) for one night at 3 hours notice! They were very patient with the multiple requests for WiFi codes, help with vending machines etc, and the noise and mess that such a big group of kids inevitably brings. They even helped us order delivery pizza and let us use the dining room to eat it. On top of that, the rooms were clean and functional although basic. The showers were hot and the beds comfortable. Breakfast was very good...even marbled eggs decorated for Easter! I would stay here again if visiting the area or passing through and needing a pitstop.

Exakt ein Jahr nach einem ”Mädels”-Wochenende mit meiner besten Freundin verbrachten wir diesmal mit unseren Männern vom 12.-14.05.2023 in den Superior-Rheinblick-Zimmern 304 und 306 eine schöne Zeit im stilvollen ”Maritim”-Königswinter mit dem spektakulären Blick auf den Rhein. Wir genossen alle unseren Aufenthalt mit aufrichtig freundlich zugewandten Mitarbeitern der meisten Bereiche sehr, haben allerdings ein paar Anmerkungen und Verbesserungsvorschlöge. Obwohl ich bereits bei der Buchung den unverbindlichen Wunsch”oberste Etage” angegeben hatte, sollten wir beim Einchecken Zimmer in der ersten Etage bekommen. Nach entsprechendem Hinweis erhielten wir problemlos o.g. Zimner mit o.g. Blick. Die Superior-Zimmer haben neben dem Rheinblick auch eine Nespresso-Maschine. Ich persönlich würde mir als reine Tee-Trinkerin ergänzend einen Wasserkocher und eine Auswahl an Tee wünschen. Erfahrungsgemäß hatte ich meinen Wasserkocher und Teebeutel mitgenommen. Im Bad unserer Freunde waren bei Ankunft unter dem Waschtisch unangenehm aussehende Flecken auf den Fliesen, die nach Hinweis umgehend entfernt wurden. Wir freuten uns, dass das Wetter mitspielte und wir beide als Arrangement gebuchten Abendessen auf der Rheinterasse im Sonnenuntergang genießen konnten. Leider hatte das Restaurant am 13.05.2023 nur wenige Reservierungen für den Abend, so dass uns ein 3-gängiges reines Spargel-Menü angeboten wurde, was für 2 von uns keine Option bot, da wir keinen Spargel essen. Zudem hatten wir uns alle auf das umfangreiche ”Maritim”-Abendbuffet gefreut und wären gerne zuvor informiert worden. Unser Vorschlag, den wir der überaus aufmerksamen und freundlichen AZUBI Larissa machten war, ein bis zwei weitere 3-Gang-Menüs anzubieten, damit jeder Gast unkompliziert zufrieden gestellt werden kann. Was uns ebenfalls betrübt hat und was wir im vergangenen Jahr besser erlebt haben, war der, bei einer überschaubaren Bar-Ausnutzung nicht wirklich interessierte und unprofessionelle Barkeeper. Ich hätte mir mehr Informationen zu dem mir unbekannten Gin gewünscht und bei meinem späteren Getränkewunsch Piňa Colada Vergin war sein Hinweis, dass er keine Sahne darin mag und ich statt dessen Batida de Coco darin nehmen sollte absolut unangebracht. Am 2. Abend suchten wir daher zum Abendausklang eine Lokalität in der Altstadt auf. Schade! Nichtsdestotrotz lieben wir das ”Maritim”-Klnigswinter und kommen sicher wieder!

Un hotel pulito e confortevole, ideale per una notte o due. Il bar chiuso alle 11:00 e tutto quello che acquisti dalla ricezione dopo questo tempo deve essere pagato in contanti. Non è un problema importante, ma alcuni potrebbero volerlo sapere. Grande parcheggio con un paio di punti di carica elettrici.

Our honeymoon trip took us here for the first night. We wanted to stop in Cologne to see some sights the next morning, This was a perfect location just off the motorway, and only 20 minutes back in to Cologne. When we arrived, the staff member that saw us in was pleasant, satisfactory English, but seemed to lack any personality, like she was bored. The restaurant in the hotel was closed when we arrived, when we queried this, we were told its a breakfast only facility. I asked for some recommendations for the local area to get some dinner, I was handed an A4 sheet with multiple eateries. My Wife and I like to read some reviews before going, and found only a couple out of the whole list was on Google or Trip Advisor, so not the most helpful. OK if your not bothered though. Dimitri Grill up the road, about 20 minute walk, I highly recommend this place! (Reviewed separately) The room was pleasant, odd shape, clean and comfortable. It had a safe, sofa and chairs, bed was hard, which was nice. The shower was amazing, could have stayed in there all day. The room however was only made up for one person, we had to call down to get more bedding and towels. These turned out to be single duvets only. The hotel don't stock double or king, only singles. There was a coffee and tea facilities however the kettle is only useable under the wall mounted TV, so the steam and heat goes in to the TV, the coffee was not nice at all, and again was only made up to be enough for one. Car park was odd, its free to get in with a barrier that goes up automatically when you move towards it, however to get you need a token from reception to leave. The staff did remind us of this, however there was no check on if we were guests or not. If your a light sleeper due to light, take an eye mask as the curtains are as thin as cotton. If your looking for a pamper, or some fluffy stuff, this is not the hotel. This is purely a business hotel, or a bed and go kind of hotel.
