We had a wonderful time staying at the hotel! I should have read the reviews before getting there, they are quite honest, but… I am glad we stayed here. The hotel's location and stunning views of Lake Bled are absolutely breathtaking. It's clear why this hotel is so popular despite the old decor. I have no doubts that after the renovations it will be fully booked for months! That said, the hotel's appearance is starting to show its age. A renovation would undoubtedly enhance the overall experience. However, the hotel's charm and character are undeniable. And for what the hotel is lacking, the staff makes up for it! Thinking on their feet and trying to make the best of it. The staff was exceptional. From the friendly welcome at reception to the attentive service on the sun deck and the life guards at the boathouse. Honestly, everyone went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. And they were attending everyone with the same charm. A special mention goes to the manager attending us the last day, he fixed our problem with a cheerful and accommodating attitude! I really appreciate that. While the breakfast itself was delicious, the real highlight was enjoying it while taking in the incredible lake views. The sun deck was our favorite spot to relax and soak up the atmosphere. We even got to use SUPs and had a fantastic time exploring the lake with kids. Unforgettable! Despite the hotel's need for a refresh, we would highly recommend a stay here. The unbeatable location, combined with the exceptional staff and stunning views, make it a truly special place. Just be prepared for a bit of old-world charm! And for the reviews complaining about the price/quality… I guess one is paying a premium for the location! Location, location, location! If I would have to do it all over again, I would not stay in another hotel! My husband agrees 100%

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, spectacular location on the lake, it is dated and does need a refurb, the food options not so good either, but the rooms are comfortable if a little small, but the service from the all the staff was spot on, the spa was beautiful, we did like the old world charm, would probably return after the planned refurb, the sun deck was fantastic being able to swim in the thermal lake was a highlight

Stayed for 3 nights in a balcony suite on the top floor. Let me start by saying that this listed hotel has all the romance and old charm of a golden age of travel without feeling dated. The staff were unbelievably friendly, helpful and insightful on making every aspect of your holiday enjoyable, right down to advice on which ATM to use to not get charged (fyi it's one to the left of Devils bar). The room was enormous and spacious with 2 double door to the balcony with 180 views on the waterfront. A lounge area, tea / coffee station with mini bar, large TV, large wardrobe area with safe. Bathroom was classical and spacious with complimentary toiletries. The hotel is only half hour from the airport and a great base from the nearby attractions, lakes and waterfalls. You can walk the lake in non stop in 1 hour 30 and the castle because it's up hill is 45. The hotel does have an indoor spa and saunas , 3 to be precise. The pool although beautiful is uncomfortably cold for my liking...again personal preference and more thermal for after sauna but if want a comfortable swim you might be better off in the lake lol. Interestingly you can use the pool at its sister hotel 5 minutes away, saunas are extra but the pool is heated...ask reception for more details. Breakfast was large and had good variety with sparkling wine and juice on entry, cooked goods are ordered at the table a la'carte style. I can't say enough good things about the hotel and staff and it reminds you why you travel and that special feeling you get when you're in such a place. WiFi is ok, beds are comfy, boat rentals available, room service is brilliant. Just take a look at the photos....you either get that fizz or you don't.

The location of this hotel is unbeatable, right on the lake (but you need to get a lake view otherwise you will overlook the road!) but not worth the price overall sadly. The rooms are very small and not sound proof, drafts under the doors, bathroom is dated and shower/bath very small, service slow and pool is cold. The breakfast is good (buffet and a la carte) and views are amazing. The outdoor lido for swimming and taking boats out was closed due to a tiny bit of rain.

I had a single room. It was comfortable, quaint, clean and the price was right. I loved the dock access to swim and borrow a boat. Breakfast was good and included. We stayed three nights to see Bled, Soca Valley and Vintgar Gorge. I did not find this hotel to be run down.

Just about the only things five star about this hotel are the price and the view. Oh,and in fairness, the breakfast. The rooms are decidedly 3 star. So small you can just about get around the, good, bed. Tired bathroom. The late autocrat Tito might have liked the decor. But he is dead and it is heading that way. In fairness, we understood from the very friendly staff that the premises are due to be wholly revamped. So perhaps wait to read reviews written after it has closed and reopened, and file the old ones. If you go before then, and after, make sure that you get a lakeside room with a terrace. You will want to spend your time there with the view of the castle bang opposite rather than in the room. Unless it is too hot. The air con in the room is good. That option will cost you an astonishing 40€ extra a night.
