Silver Beach Hotel

Don’t get real excited about the breakfast, but can’t beat the price or location. Comfy, safe, spacious rooms.

Overall the stay was good. We booked very last minute and the hotel reception staff were very accommodating. They are obviously undergoing a massive refurbishment but the receptionist was up front and honest and said that we could have a newly refurbished room as opposed to the refurbished room that we had booked. The pool was closed, as was the ‘nightclub’ and these areas are being used for storage of the refurb materials however this was not an issue for us. The location was fantastic and St Joseph’s itself was a lovely place to visit. Don’t be put off by the negative reviews as the hotel staff were more than accommodating and happy to work with you to make the most of your stay. Once the hotel refit is complete I am sure that this will once again be a top choice

It wass pretty clean. Very loud, you could hear everything in the hallway and when we left we had to move a cleaning cart away from the doorway to get out of our room.

We liked that it was in walking distance of the beach and restaurants. The pool and bar at the hotel were shut down. That was a disappointment.

Nothing was as stated. There was no pool. There was no useable fitness center. There was no restaurant or bar. The rooms smells, had stains all over the carpet and walls. I am shocked that ******* allows them to list this place with all these amenities and there is nothing.

I booked this hotel for a birthday trip and was willing to pay a little more per night for the walking distance to downtown. The location of this hotel is a 10/10. That alone may be worth the price. You can walk to the beach, all the downtown shops, a gas station, bars, etc. and there is free parking. The staff was so nice and the room was clean and comfortable. Our only complaints about the room were the lack of shelves in the shower, the lack of closet (there is a rack to hang clothes from just no closet doors), and the TV. Our TV was pixelated on every channel and when we asked the front desk about it they said they had wiring issues. While the room had a balcony, it had spider webs on it and it was shared with the room next to us with just a metal fence in between. The hotel did have free breakfast but it was very minimal. It consisted of bagels, muffins, yogurt, cereal, and fruit. No waffles. It is clear that they are still working on the renovations of this hotel but if the price stays the same, we would stay here again. It was worth all the small problems just for the comfy and clean room and the distance to downtown.

Given the other reviews, I knew I was taking a chance, but I was looking for someplace in the area that was pet friendly. Although I admit, my expectations going in were low, the hotel exceeded my expectations by quite a lot: The room was more than acceptable. The lobby is quite nice. The people who work there were all very friendly. The room was affordable. My dogs were comfortable. I had no interest in the in hotel breakfast because there were better breakfast places in town that I wanted to try. It was clear from the other reviews that the pool is not functional right now. The location could not be better and the price is right overall this was exactly what I wanted and needed it to be! :)

Ants in the room I killed two quarter size spiders no water pressure,and no hot water at 7:30 in the morning.

Was clean but nothing like pictures on hotels web pool was not useable they were storing new toilets in pool area for future renovations to rooms tv had snow fuzz on every channel I don’t exspect this from a room that cost over 150 a night
