Do not hesitate to book this wonderful place. We had a stunning room overlooking a small lake with ducks to the mountains beyond. Very peaceful. Extremely clean and well cared for. Bed very comfortable, great shower. Hosts are so welcoming and helpful . Breakfast was beautifully cooked. Dinner was booked for us in Twizel Such a shame we only stayed one night- definitely the best accommodation we have had so far in NZ

Jo and Peter gave us a very warm welcome and immediately made us feel right at home. A beautiful and very comfortable setting in a gorgeous landscape. Beautifully appointed rooms, with views extending over the lawns to Aoraki. The boiled fruit cake was always something to look forward to on our return before venturing into town later for dinner. We cannot rate this lodge highly enough

Fantastic experience! A beautiful space that is spotless and very relaxing. We loved this as part of our honeymoon. The room is spacious and has a quaint outdoor area right next to the most picturesque duck pond. Thanks Mel for being an amazing host and taking us with you to feed the ducks :) - corey and paige.

The lodge is beautifully appointed. The bedrooms fabulous with lovely vies over the lake and mountains in the background. Mel was fantastic the perfect host. Gave info on the area booked evening meals for us. A star. The breakfast was a big disappointment compared with other B and B we had in New Zealand . The photos in the web page show a variety of cereals fresh fruit home made jams ETC. Just muesiie no choice. Fruit was OK at best. One type of shop bought bread, that was OK The cooked breakfast was good.Such a disappointment compared with other B and B we went to. For that reason we would not return or recommend. Mel said she and her husband were leaving later that month.

I spent three nights at matuka lodge while fly fishing in the Twizel area. A small custom lodge, with wonderful , clean, well appointed rooms. Calm, beautiful and relaxing, the owners and hosts, Mel and Mark were wonderful, they were very considerate and made my stay! I highly recommend Matuka Lodge!

A lovely location with perfect hosts. We were made very welcome and nothing was too much trouble. Little touches of tea and coffee, cakes and biscuits etc were a delight. The location was an easy drive to Mt Cook and the glaciers along with more stunning scenery. We would highly recommend.

An absolutely wonderful place to stay when visiting Mount Cook . Beautiful location and stunning views , fantastic quality of accommodation and Mel is a fabulous host who looks after you incredibly well . You will never regret staying at Matuka Lodge .
