The Gailes Hotel & Spa

Just home from a two night stay in the Ailsa Suite within the Gailes hotel, all I can say is WOW! what an amazing experience we had from start to finish. We checked in and were shown to our room which was incredible, once we settled we used the Spa facilities within the room and had dinner booked for 7pm when we went for dinner we were served by Beth who couldn’t have done enough for us, the food is amazing! After dinner we had some drinks in the bar (cocktails weren’t great but that didn’t make any difference to our experience) next morning we went for breakfast and the manager Helen served us, and had a lovely chat with us and again like Beth couldn’t have done any more for us! We then went to GG’s coffee house at night to watch the football which was great and then returned to the main bar within the hotel and was served and greeted again by Beth. Our overall experience was out of this world and we will certainly be returning to the Gailes and possibly some of the other hotels owned by Simsinns!

We had a wedding show around with Kathleen she was so lovely and explained everything so well. And after got a complimentary afternoon tea which was beautiful much nicer than sister company waterside one more variety and staff were so nice.

A lovely,quiet,relaxing little hotel.We came for my husbands birthday. We had a lovely room (king sized bed,wardrobe,tv,lovely modern bathroom,heater,table,chairs,tea and coffee facilities,iron,hairdryer) Nice view of little wedding pavilion and ponds/fountain from our room. The receptionist was lovely. There is a health suite,golfing,GGs sports bar,Coast dining restaurant,which we booked dinner in,and breakfast included the next morning. Wonderful food,beautifully cooked and presented,hubby enjoyed the Rums and Coke! Staff in restaurant so nice too! Best steak pie we have ever had! Lots of choice. Dessert to die for! Breakfast had various options too. Continental table to start,then hot food made to order. Again,lovely,and well cooked! Can't fault our stay here at the Gailes. Nearby Sainsbury's,B&M and Farmfoods for snacks,and a lovely Harbour Walk not far away either. Will definitely be back! ( hopefully hubby will return the favour for my birthday!)

Stayed initially for one night and changed to two nights. The resort although hosting weddings was relaxed and relatively peaceful as function suites are situated apart from other facilities. We arrived on Thursday 27th June approx 3.30pm. Checked in by warm friendly professional informative staff who advised procedure for meals/breakfast amongst other facilities. We were able to request a late Check Out which is £20 per additional hour if available. We stayed in a double room 9 on the ground floor. The room was nice, well presented only thing is tho on the smaller side but well equipped. The bed was sooooo comfortable with fresh cotton quality sheets and lighter duvet. The toilet was spotlessly clean with high quality toiletries. A bath with stand in shower above. A functional desk with adjustable lamp, telephone charging point and various forms of hotel information including spa info. Perhaps a room service menu would be a good addition. The only other issue was the temperature at nite which I think is controlled centrally. Individual controlled air con would be great as we found it a bit warm but I know it's not easy to cater for everyone as others may have found it colder. We had dinner in the restaurant at night (advisable to book). The food menu was varied and the food well presented and tasty. I had the lemon King prawn tempura followed by the chicken and haggis on a bed of mash in a peppercorn sauce and root veg/broccoli. Partner had a fantastic burger with additional cheese. Desserts were a warm chocolate brownie with cream and arran ice cream and butterscotch cheesecake with the same accompaniments. A lovely meal served by lovely attentive helpful staff. After a sound sleep in the marshmallow like bed we had breakfast. I had the full scottish and my partner a bacon roll. Continental option available too as well as cereals and fruit juices. Other cooked breakfast options available to like smoked salmon and eggs , French toast etc. Like I said stayed for an additional night. All in all a really enjoyable experience in relaxing comfortable surrounding with wonderful staff. A credit to hospitality. Thank you Gailes 😊

The room was over looking the car park and the road beyond and the traffic was very noisy even with window closed and curtains closed. The sound proofing between rooms was like paper. The extractor fan in the bathroom was loud and during the night made a thumping noise even with the door closed and light off room 31. The bed was like a brick. We waited 50 minutes in the restaurant for dinner starter which arrived Luke warm which we didn’t complain about as we were too hungry by this time to complain and start again. The main meals were extremely soggy chips (not sure how they managed this) and steak, and the other peppercorn and chicken as the sauce was literally made up of peppercorns and not much liquid. On the plus side GG coffee shop had the most amazing chocolate cake. The staff were very warm and friendly. I will not return as the soundproofing between rooms is poor and the beds extremely uncomfortable. On the plus breakfast was good. Reception staff was very welcoming.

I bought an afternoon tea voucher for 4 as a Christmas gift for my Mum and we decided to go to the Gailes , all I can say what a beautiful hotel! Afternoon tea was delish and customer service was excellent! (I have had afternoon teas in the past and it wasn’t great! )I just wanted to say THANKYOU for making our afternoon amazing! Everything was perfect! The food was truly fab! Still can’t get over the size of the scones!! 😊

Stayed here on a Sunday evening for a 1 night stay that we received as a gift. We had high hopes and expectations of this place and we weren’t disappointed. Room was very nice and bed very comfortable. The room was also very clean. We had breakfast in the morning which was nice and we did use the coffee shop at the Spa area which was also very nice. Would highly recommend the hotel for an overnight stay or longer. It also looked like a great location for a wedding which I see they cater for.

We have stayed at all the Simsinns many many times over the years and they did not fail us at The Gailes again. We got a lovely greeting from Kate who was so friendly and cheery on all the occasions we spoke to her All the restaurant staff was just as lovely and welcoming and chatty. We just love coming here and it was especially nice enjoying seeing they were hosting a wedding but did not make the staff any less attentive to their other guests. Booked for their sister hotel The Old Loans later this year and know we will get just as good a welcome and stay. Fantastic staff

Visiting with friends for lunch to celebrate birthday. Lovely food and we had a nice table at the window. My only gripe is when I paid I forgot to hand over my reward card, I appreciate this was my fault, but normally the server will ask if you collect rewards.
