When we arrived, we were holding several luggage and waiting in front of the reception desk to be called, a receptionist looked at us and then continued her work, and the other receptionists also did not greet us until one of them finally asked if we wanted to be checked in. Wasn't that obvious? She flipped over our passports from top to bottom several times. I couldn't help myself to ask what she was looking for. She said the stamp of China entry, then I pointed it out for her. It's our last leg of China trip. Not any other hotels in other cities required this "evidence".
I asked the concierge if they could book a taxi for us to the capital airport in advance before our departure date. He said no need to book and there are always staff at the reception and concierge desk. When we checked out at 5:50am, there was only one gentleman at the reception. I had to ask him if he could call a taxi for us. He picked up a phone and typed in something and then said we had to prepay the fare ¥148 first. No more communication after I paid it. Then we started to wait and didn't know which car we should look for. When we finally got in, the driver was not happy either. He complained if there was a traffic jam, the driver also couldn't change the route as it was a fixed package.
The hotel is not very close to the metro station, and there is a big hurdle at the entrance of Chongwenmen station. You can imagine the situation when you carry a big suitcase to catch the train. There are not many restaurants around. However, the hotel breakfast was very good, a lot of varieties. Like most of Chinese hotels, no barista coffee. The breakfast finished at 10am.
The rain shower was even weaker than the normal shower head. The toilet is an old style. Be careful when you put the seat down, it might make a loud bang. No bedside USB charging ports
