Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort

My husband and I stayed in Bay Lake Tower years ago and did not enjoy it. My kids asked if we could stay here as they never have. We enjoyed it much more than our first time. We had bay side and it was absolutely beautiful. Walking back to the resort from MK after a late night or running into MK just to get popcorn and walk back was magical. We watched fireworks from the observation deck multiple times with our popcorn. The elevators were a little packed because the second bank was in a construction area. The only negative we really had was that the pool was so hot. It was not even refreshing but the sun comes up that side of the resort so it hits the pool all day. Outside of that, the experience we had this year was wonderful. We would definitely stay here again.

This was supposed to be a Magical Disney vacation. We are a family of five—two parents and three young children—staying at Bay Lake Tower in a Deluxe Villa during our Disney World vacation. We intentionally chose the Deluxe Villa for the comfort and space it offers, which is critical when traveling with young children. Our Deluxe Villa included: Two full bathrooms, with the master bath featuring a large hot tub A full kitchen with a full-sized refrigerator, plates, utensils, and plenty of cabinet space where we stored our snacks and cases of water A private balcony A partition wall separating the kids' sleeping area from ours, which allowed us all to get rest and privacy—something very important to us on this trip However, on the morning of Saturday, July 19th 2025, our trip was severely disrupted when we discovered that our children had slept in bedsheets covered in dried blood stains. We immediately checked them for injuries, none of our kids were bleeding, so the blood was clearly from a previous guest. This was not only a serious sanitation issue and biohazard —it was emotionally and mentally disturbing to find our children had unknowingly slept in such unsanitary and unsafe conditions. We hadn’t inspected the sheets the night before because we trusted Disney’s standards. That trust was completely broken. We immediately reported this to hotel management. We spoke with: The Housekeeping Manager The Front Desk Manager, Morgan And later, Katie, who identified herself as a higher-level manager Here’s how they responded: Option 1: Clean the room — an obvious and inadequate response considering the severity of the situation. Option 2: Move us to the Contemporary Resort — but the offered room was a clear downgrade. It was a studio with no kitchen, no cabinet space, no utensils, only one bathroom, no hot tub, and no balcony. It also lacked a sleeping separation, meaning no privacy from our children. Option 3: Check availability at other resorts — by that point, it was already 1:00 PM, and we had lost our entire morning dealing with this issue. Our children were heartbroken to miss their long-awaited visit to the Magic Kingdom castle. We declined the third option because we didn’t want to waste more of our day packing and relocating. Ultimately, the only resolution offered was to clean the room and comp one night’s stay. — That’s It! While we acknowledge the comped night, it falls far short of what’s appropriate for the seriousness of the situation. Our children slept in someone else’s dried blood. That’s not just unacceptable—it’s traumatizing. No genuine apology and no serious concern for the kids and what had just happened to our family. For the reputation that Disney loves to market -- this was a complete failure. This experience left us frustrated, disappointed, and emotionally drained. For the standard Disney promises, this was a total failure in health, hospitality, and guest care. We urge Disney to take this matter

I've always wanted to stay here, and i had no idea they had just been remodeled! The rooms are light and airy and cool and refreshing. Location is spectacular. Kitchen is well stocked (unlike another DVC I just reviewed) and easy to use. Staff here are extremely helpful and happy and nice! Highly recommend!

We have grand villa (3 bedrooms) very spacious very clean. Accessible to Magic Kingdom and monorail. Good view of nightly fireworks. Nice pool and you have access to the Contemporary Resort pool next door too. Nothing negative experienced.

Bay Lake Tower’s biggest selling point remains its unbeatable location — steps away from Magic Kingdom and connected to the monorail for seamless access to other parks and resorts. For convenience and transportation, it doesn’t get much better than this. That said, the overall experience left something to be desired. The rooms and lobby feel noticeably dated, lacking the modern polish seen at some of Disney’s newer or recently refurbished properties. The studio layout in particular is awkward and cramped, with limited storage and a design that feels more functional than comfortable. Additionally, ongoing construction throughout the resort detracted from the ambiance and made parts of the stay feel disjointed. If proximity to the parks is your top priority, Bay Lake delivers in spades. But for those looking for an immersive or upscale resort experience, this may fall short — especially given the premium price point.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom using rented points. We loved it! It was very spacious for 6 of us. We were on a low floor, but we had views of Cinderella Castle. We also took advantage of walking to Magic Kingdom which was a big perk. It was not the most convenient walk to get drinks, snacks, and ride the monorail, but it wasn’t too bad. We had a large coffee maker in our room along with all the coffee supplies we needed. It also smelled wonderful in the lobby and halls. I have stayed in many Disney hotels, and I enjoyed this way more than expected. I also loved having a washer and dryer. It would be very nice to stay here long term( but way too expensive). We also went up to the roof to see gorgeous views. My daughter took advantage of the running trail, and we enjoyed the outdoor rec games and craft room.
