Sangker Villa

From beginning to end everything about my recent four night stay at Sangker Villa was perfect. The kind hospitable owners, Christine and Phillipe and their local Khmer team, were enormously welcoming and clearly go to great lengths to ensure your comfort as a guest. I was very kindly given a free room upgrade and my room, number 5 upstairs, was large, bright, airy and meticulously clean. Breakfast (served from 730-930), always a peaceful relaxing affair, served poolside, was absolutely delicious. The warm homemade bread served with homemade jam was amazing as was the ‘Khmer eggs’ option with chilli and onions. Highly recommended! An efficient same day laundry service was available (this may be dependent on weather). Christine can also organise motorcycle rental with the motorcycle delivered to the guesthouse for pickup. Sangker Villa also run a selection of their own very reasonably priced tuk-tuk tours with reputable local English/French speaking driver/guides. To witness Mother Nature at her most awe inspiring I would highly recommend the $15 afternoon tour that includes a dusk visit to the famous bat cave - truly spectacular! My driver, Bun, was a superb guide and companion for my 5 hour tour. Location on the more desirable east river bank in a quiet residential area and only a short (10 minute), pleasant, flat stroll into the ‘centre’ is perfect too. Sangker Villa was a 'home from home' and Christine and Phillipe are a good advert for the hospitality industry. Without hesitation I would stay here again and I cannot recommend this guesthouse highly enough. Thank you team Sangker Villa for being such wonderful hosts! My stay was absolutely perfect and I enjoyed Battambang all the more thanks to you!
