Hotel in zona Joyroom Colombia Store Centro comercial viva, Barranquilla

This was a large group that was planned for more than a year. We had over 45 people planning to stay in the hotel along with a planned party that was up on the 13th floor for 45 people and was an absolute nightmare! Management was quick to take my $$ for the food and set up of of the party. They were SO understaffed and ill prepared it very soon turned into a complete nightmare and disappointment. With more than 45 people at the party music was great and one bartender the staff had no idea, nor did they have the ability to correct it. I had more than three of my friends trying to at least pay their tab, but their equipment was not sufficient to take payment. It also took hours for that to be corrected, but I also went down to talk to Management and i found two 20 year-old girls were explaining to me that they were running the hotel yet they were on the phone trying to find somebody to help them and no ability to correct the situation. was extremely disappointed to find a hotel that was Supposedly of great caliber destroyed and ruined my wife’s 60th birthday along with her family that were born and raised here in Barranquilla. I later found many of the people at the party had the informed me that the bar tender upstairs ran out of alcohol, and was not only shorting drinks, but not putting any alcohol in a lot of them. we later confirm that as we found 1/3 of the party was downstairs in the front bar drinking as nobody had any alcohol and their drinks upstairs. needless to say, I’m extremely disappointed as we own property here in this city, and to bring 45 friends from the states to enjoy the culture atmosphere and ambience. It’s just disgusting to have such an incredible night ruined my managements, inability to prepare and service the party that we paid. I would strongly recommend not to ever come here with a party of any caliber or service that is needed as they were not capable to even correct the problem that’s what really ******. please note this is not what I do. I am just so disappointed as we love this city and it’s a shame to bring so many friends to a place where we were spending good money for them to enjoy just to be kicked in the face by two young girls that had no ability to cure or solve the problem. there are many other fine hotels in this city. If you’re gonna spend any fair amount of money, I would please shop around as I would not come to the Crowne Plaza ever.

Ho goduto del mio soggiorno alla Bqlla Plaza, fino al punto che ho prolungato il mio soggiorno due volte. Ho prenotato per due notti inizialmente e ho deciso di trascorrere la prima metà della mia vacanza qui. Il personale è amichevole, professionale e molto attento, l'impianto è eccezionale per chiunque dal turista al professionista. Come direttore di eventi speciali veterani, sono stato particolarmente apprezzato per il livello di qualità esposto in un matrimonio tenuto in territorio. Top that off with the ambience of the pool area and the beautiful, full buffet, including eggs cooked to order, and you’ve got the makes of a memory. Non posso raccomandarli abbastanza - grida speciale a Wilbur nel salone e Kareme al desk front!

Excellent hotel, staff and location. Just recommend change the mattress for one more soft. Swimming pool and terrace have a good position on roof top, always is a fresh day there. Room service is excellent too.

If you are looking for luxury as befits this chain (and other similar chains) in the US, you will be hard pressed to find it here. While a very nice hotel, it rates about one star less by U.S. standards. That said, I do think it is one of the better hotels in the city, and though I was not initially too impressed, my favor has grown in comparison to other disappointing hotel stays I've experienced in Barranquilla. The value is good for the price. I would stay here again as it is easily 1/4 of the price of the few hotels offering a higher quality stay. The rooftop pool was one of the draws for this hotel. Unfortunately, it was closed the night we were there. I think maybe they had just super chlorinated it because the water was slightly murky. It is a nice pool, though shallow, like all BAQ hotel pools. However, unlike many hotels in this city, the size of the pool did match the online photos. The room was large and the bedding was crisp and clean. The beds were more comfortable than the usual hard beds in Colombia. The mini fridge and the A/C worked well, as did the Wi-Fi. The room / floor was quiet. The buffet breakfast was good - not fantastic - but good. Several hot dishes, breads, muffins, juices, coffee, etc. The hotel is in Riomar, a nice area, but a bit far from the center of town...a good 4 or 5km away, which is a 20-25 minute drive. Easy for drivers to get confused with the GHL Hotel Barranquilla across the street, or the GH Hotel Barranquilla near downtown, or even the Hotel NH Collection Barranquilla downtown. The Buenavista Mall is nearby with eateries and bars, but it is not really walkable. A 20 minute walk in the heat of the day is rather far, and it's not very recommendable to walk too far at night if you don't live there. 6min ride. **Side note: Uber is not available in Barranquilla. Here, they use the app, InDriver. Taxis are cheap, though.

This was the first of 3 hotels we stayed at over 6 nights. It is an older hotel but has been maintained. Only complaint we were not able to control the a/c unit in the room. They staff does speak English and are friendly and knowledgeable. They have an excellent Breakfast buffest each morning with was included in our rate. The roof top looks like they might be doing some work on. but is accessible , provides a view of Barranquilla *( best to see at night the city lights) . The pool is on the 3rd level with a bar area also ( not sure of the hours for the bar) is a decent size.

This hotel was completely disgusting, full of mould and damp throughout the hotel. The restaurant floor appeared not to have been cleaned for many months as the dirt was really ground in, the nets and curtains were also mouldy and filthy too. We had to change rooms twice due to the fact that my husband was struggling to breath due too the conditions. The gym was completely filthy and the breakfast was the same each day, and they did not have anything Vegan for me either. There was nothing nice about this hotel. The restaurant menu was dreadful, old and uninviting. The staff were slow to respond to any asks. The bath had obvious cracks in it, however they had just been painted over. This hotel needs a lot of money spent on it to firstly address the mould and damp issues. The replies to the reviews from the hotel stated that they were in the process of completing some maintenance work, almost 2 years ago, however this place has not been touched in any aspect for many, many years! AVOID THIS HOTEL IF YOU DON'T WANT TO POTENTIALLY BECOME ILL!! This hotel is down as a 3/4 star, but 1.5 at the very best. I have always been fair around my reviews, so for me to write this, it was absolutely dire 😔

L'hotel è molto soddisfatto, la camera è ampia e confortevole e molto pulita e lo stile decorativo è moderno.Questo prezzo è un supermercato, adatto per viaggi commerciali, senza piscina, c'è un buon ristorante vicino.

THE BEST HOTEL IN BARRANQUILLA. If you plan on coming on a family trip, couples' getaway, or work, do not bother going anywhere else. The food, service, pool bar, pizza, the views, the pool, the drinks. Everything is an overall 10/10 and would love to come back again soon!

Molto cattiva esperienza. Prenotamo per il carnaval dell'autunno per assicurarci che abbiamo alloggi e biglietti. La prenotazione era con diritto di cancellazione fino a una settimana prima, circa il 3 febbraio. In gennaio mi hanno iniziato a mandare un messaggio su Booking e whatsapp (l'autore era due persone che non si comunicavano, quindi ho dovuto aggiornare entrambe le chat), minacciandomi che se non avessi pagato la somma completa entro pochi giorni, mi cancellerebbero Dopo una settimana, hanno organizzato una conversazione di gruppo su whatsapp (nessuno li ha permesso), ci hanno tormentato con messaggi con il programma carnivale e dicendo che ci erano biglietti per l'hotel. Quando siamo arrivati al receptionist, la signora ci ha detto che i biglietti erano andati, dopo le nostre rivolte, ha iniziato a rispondere in modo molto arrogante e arrogante. Ci ha attaccato verbalmente che dovevamo prima comprare i biglietti e che non era il loro problema in questo momento. Dopo che siamo andati al carnaval e hanno cercato di rubarci immediatamente, stanco di tutto, siamo tornati all'hotel (non avevamo nemmeno preso la stanza ancora), abbiamo chiesto di andare e di ottenere un rimborso perché avevamo pagato in anticipo nonostante il fatto che Le regole di prenotazione hanno chiaramente indicato che potremmo cancellare. Naturalmente non ci hanno dato alcun rimborso. Molto cattivo servizio.
