Highgates Hotel

Bangalore|0.35km dal park
I chose HighGates Hotel on Church Street in Bengaluru once more as my spouse and myself stayed at that property in March 2023. As I was travelling on my own and just had few days I opted for HighGates due to its location and proximity to MG, Brigade Road and also the hustle and bustle of Church Street. HighGates Hotel is a nice hotel and the staff are good too. I arrived at the property at 03:00 am and the Night ***ager greeted me with a smile and said “welcome back and it’s nice to have you again at HighGates”. There was not much formalities to be done as I already had paid for the booking. The porter picked my luggage and I went directly to my room. The room is good with all the amenities free wifi, bottles of water, tea, coffee station, TV, King size bed with clean and comfy bed linen, bathroom amenities are good too. The hotel has 3 restaurants inside the property. 1). White Room where breakfast, lunch and dinner are served. You can either opt to sit inside or outside in the covered terrace. The architecture is pretty colonial style and guest feels relaxed in that ambience with a well maintained garden and greeneries. The menu card is not much elaborated yet the food is good. During my stay I saw ***y non-residents coming for breakfast meeting or family breakfast there. They also have a pastry corner. I haven’t tasted it though but the cakes on display looked delicious. I only had breakfast there which is good. Roomali Restaurant is their Indian Restaurant and the restaurant has a nice decor and has seating inside and outside on the terrace. They have a varied choice on their menu. The restaurant is quite full most of the time and the food is tasty. I’ve eaten there on several occasions and I enjoyed the experience. The ***darin Box is an open concept one where you have benches and tables outside. They have a limited menu where guests come, select their dishes, order, pay and collect the food and eat. It has a nice garden around too. It’s bit noisy as it’s in the open and the tables and benches are quite close. Food is simple and tasty. I enjoyed eating there especially at night as I watched the stars and moon as I was on my own. The only downside is the rooms, bathrooms are worn out and really need a good renovation. The property looks dated. One thing which I really didn’t appreciate is that guests using room service just leave their plates outside the room. This is so unhygienic, lack of respect towards the hotel property and other guests. I believe ***agement should address the matter to guests. I spoke to Mr Viktor the General ***ager about it. Hope things would change for the better. HighGates location and staff is an asset for this property. I would like to stay there on my next trip.

Olive MG Road Dunsvirk Inn - by Embassy Group

Nice interiors of the hotel but there was non- cooperation. On first night i asked for all out as there were a lot of mosquitos, they said we don't have any all out etc. I asked for chilled water and they said we don't have a fridge. So s bit fussy but overall if you are looking for a cheap hotel with decent rooms and you can adjust a bit then it's the right hotel

Iris the Business Hotel

Stayed here 3 nights whilst attending cricket match at Chinnaswamy. 20 min walk from stadium, 5 mins to Church St and Metro station. Staff very efficient and friendly. Reception printed my cricket ticket kindly. Room very nice, Air con was fantastic. All very clean and well equipped. Did not hear any noise from neighbours at all. Could hear traffic noise from around 6am tho, so earplugs needed if you're a light sleeper. Pool was nice, perfect temperature. Do think area where beds are could be bit tidier, there are things like ladders and old furnishings lying around. Breakfast was very nice, chef and young lad were very friendly and hard working. Would absolutely recommend this hotel to any type of traveller.

Vivanta Bengaluru Residency Road

Vivanta Bengaluru, Residency Road by Taj in Bengaluru boasts a strategic location that's incredibly convenient for exploring the best shopping and entertainment spots. Their breakfast spread is truly impressive, and the amenities include a fully equipped gym and a serene swimming pool that's perfect for relaxation. However, what truly sets this hotel apart is its top-notch coastal restaurant, ”Karavalli.” Nestled in a traditional ***galorean bungalow, it offers a delectable array of Southwest Coast cuisine. The service provided by the entire staff at Karavalli made us feel right at home. Mr. Bala, in particular, ensured our stay was incredibly comfortable and was always ready to assist us with recommendations for nearby attractions. Our experience at Vivanta Bengaluru was nothing short of exceptional.

It was a nice place for a short stay in the heart of the city. Clean, courteous staff and a good restaurant. Best part apart from the hotel is it’s centra location - not only is it budget friendly but also walkable distance to MG road with its restaurants, Brigade road and Garuda Mall. A short hop on a tempo takes you to commercial street. Our family had a good time and it was very convenient as it’s close to all those places above - esp when you are traveling with old parents and young kids.
