The Ivy Hotel

I booked an overnight reservation for my husband's birthday celebration. The entire experience was unique and simply outstanding in every way! We were made to feel VERY SPECIAL by each and every staff member with whom we engaged. We were CONTINUALLY welcomed throughout the stay from the person who opened the car door and greeted us by name to the very knowledgeable concierges, the room service staff, the culinary staff, the bellman, the driver, Lottie Dottie and EVERYBODY! The hotel was very clean and beautifully adorned with pictures, books, furniture, plants and artifacts that told the story of the hotel. This includes the very accommodating bedroom with a comfortable canopy bed and a pristine, spacious and updated bathroom. One could ALWAYS count on soul-stirring music playing in the background of every public space. Each tune moved us to murmur the lyrics regardless of where we were and what we were doing. Ever had a snack attack? No worries! The room was well stocked with a variety of goodies and beverages to soothe those evening urges. And, finally, let me praise the food selections offered to us at teatime and breakfast. Homemade jam, almond butter, muffins, oat flapjacks, chicken sausage, eggs, and more! This was quite an awesome getaway! And, yes, we would do it all over again!

A most wonderful experience. The hotel is lovely. My room was beautiful. The staff is extremely helpful. I used their complimentary car service. Breakfast and tea are included as well as all amenities and drinks, snacks in room. The Magdalena restaurant was charnibg and delicious. Highly recommend.

Stayed here for a night to celebrate our wedding anniversary and was upgraded to a suite on the first floor with its own private terrace. Built in 1889, it has the charm and history that the more modern hotels (like Four Seasons) does not have. With only 18 rooms/suites, it also felt less crowded, which was a nice touch. Recommend looking into this place if you're not in need of a pool or a harbor view. We're locals so none of that was important. What was important was an intimate setting, good restaurant and personal attention and it delivered.
