Our experience and reviews: 27-28 Feb. check in, check-out 1 March 2023 Arrival: We arrived after a chaotic and dangerous drive through occasional thick fog, rain and mostly heavy traffic on smallish roads through mountainous winding routes partly with big potholes after some 2.5hours from Ubud. Thanks to our experienced driver all went well. Experience reception: Entry to the ‚Resort‘ was anything than awe-inspiring, i.e. photos of reception. Then coming into the place after a lovely bamboo parkway. The manager Eamon asked us for our passports, looking out of the window of a messy reception room. No special greetings, information of local restaurants, entertainment, sports or the like, just a non-English speaking helper guided us to our ‚deluxe room‘. Indeed, beautifully designed, however, very poorly maintained, see open bathroom, wardrobes etc. We were told that the restaurant will be open between 8am to 10am, 12pm to 3pm and 6pm to 10pm. No alternatives were given. Interesting to note: no female staff at the resort were seen. Ground appearance: All grassy areas are not properly cared for, edging of steps, sides etc. not done. All in all, very sloppy and poorly looked after. Refer pictures. Absolutely no interest in the detail. Beach access: … through a rusty door, experience a very small stony beach, unclean and uninviting. Food: Smallish offering on a plastic covered menu-folder, fitting the restaurant design. Small portions, very ordinary and poorly plated food from a poor selection. Considering the remoteness of the place, one would expect some better menu, a bit of quality and presentation, no such thing. E.g.: For another small bacon rash at breakfast we would need to pay 50,000 or some $A 5.00 p/person, see the photo of the poor buffet breakfast, e.g. cheese selection... Pricing high, e.g., small Bintang bottle 45k (local Bintang beer, recommendable). To bring your own wine: 150k corkage (amazing), beer to bring not allowed. Spirits to bring ok. Why: Bali au Naturel do not offer any. BYO your own gin-Tonic? Restaurant on site: some pictures of „Mocks Kitchen“ again speak more than words. Lacking any atmosphere, simple decor, dirty and mouldy walls, rusty bar ceiling. Unprofessional waiters (very friendly but untrained, poor English) serve e.g., water and glasses without the Bali-typical cloth coasters, no salt or pepper on all tables, no placement sets at breakfast or lunch. Table napkins at dinner out of a brown paper towel dispenser. Room Deluxe: Large room with wardrobe and bathroom outside (no problem re rain). Unclean water tap, no hand soap dispenser. We went back to reception and commented that there is no hand-soap dispenser. Eamon the manager told us that there is a dispenser at the wall outside on the wall of the shower compartment for use. On my comment that this is really unreasonable (consider the rain), he said, that‘s it. Some time later one of the attendants came and brought us a half full and used soap disp
