Mega Cottages

What made my stay was the staff … they where accommodating & always there to help, and never short of a smile . Second to that is the awesome location, I wanted to be able to walk directly onto the bed from my room & I found it. Restaurants & Bars are all close by.. I enjoyed the margaritas for their bar! Beds where comfortable & linen high quality. The rooms comfortable with a hammock at the front of each room. Ac worked well. The pool & beach beds well looked after . The only thing is for the price I paid I would have expected shampoo & conditioner plus water in my room. Just 1 thing to add, this a family environment & the rooms are not sound proof so in the morning if you need a sleep in forget it or bring plugs.

At first I thought well this is pretty ordinary. Although our cottage was right at the front door positioned perfectly for pool, beach, everything, it was quite shabby. The front door handle was only just attached, the door dragged across the timber floor leaving a huge gouge in the wood, the bathroom needed a makeover and the lighting was poor. The rooms were not serviced unless requested, there was so shampoo, conditioner, hairdryer. We had to ask to toilet paper and water. Having said all that, it was just lovely. The bed, bedding, towels were perfect. The staff are lovely.

Loved our stay here, clean and comfortable bungalow with amazing views, excellent location on the beach and flat walk to fantastic restaurants, lemongrass restaurant just down the lane, sunsets from the pool and cheap cold Bintang, locally run with friendly staff

Ok…so the shower is only cold water (actually not THAT cold), there are no hangars for your clothes, and the wifi is spotty. But this place still manages to be wonderful. A confortable cabin only a few steps from the beach and lovely pool. Staff are ever so friendly. We loved our five days in laidback Lembongan.

This was my 2nd stay here. We used to stay at Nusa Indah next door but it got too crammed and the evenings with extremely loud live music were just horrible, so we moved onto Mega Cottages. They only have 9 x rooms, 5 x bungalows and 4 x rooms. The bungalows cost more and have ocean views but are not as modern as the 4 x rooms at the back. There are no TVs and breakfast is not included in the price which is unusual give the relatively high price charged for basic bungalows on the beach. The pool is lovely and the family owners are just super friendly and nice. You have to specifically ask for housekeeping, pool towels, soap, toilet paper, otherwise they will not clean your room and you will get nothing you don't ask for. The price per night has gone up by roughly A$25 per night in the last year. The back rooms are now 700k compared to 450k last year and the front bungalows 800-900k which is a steep increase. It's a lovely place to have a holiday. The location is great. The beach is out front and the gardens are relaxed and pretty. But this year they rented out all of their sun lounges and the pool use to anyone who asked, so there are lots of young random backpackers and tourists who pay $10 per night in the back streets come and hang out for the day. There are 6 lounges by the pool and 8 lounges on the beach. Some days all were rented out without time limit - some backpackers stayed for 8 hrs straight -and there was nowhere to sit for the guests paying $70-90 per night plus the pool was crowded with young couples /backpackers drinking Bintangs and taking up all of the space which made this often an annoying instead of relaxing stay. I do understand they need to make money but the place was fully booked every day which meant they were some 25 guests around eating, drinking, using the pool and wanting sun beds and the space they paid for in calm surroundings. I could have saved myself $400 that week by staying in a back alley and renting a sun bed for the day. Next door (Lembongan Resort) told all the people "no, just for guests". I think Mega Cottage will lose return guests if they don't manage this better, as there were multiple families who had zero space to sit anywhere. The front bungalows are old. Mine had broken floorboards which needed fixing.

Bungalow style accommodation overlooking Jungut Batu beach is perfect for couples wanting a small scale property in this flatter location of Lembongan. Easy to walk to shops, cafes, restaurants and other activities compared to the more ‘hilly’ Mushroom beach. This beach is coral based so shoes needed to walk along or to go swimming but the water quality was very good whilst we stayed here. The rooms are compact but very comfortable, the staff are absolutely brilliant and personally we loved this accommodation and hired a scooter through the property to explore the island including Ceningan. There are many properties along the beach where you can stop for a drink or meal and the sunsets from Mega Cottages is the best you’ll find anywhere! Highly recommended.
