Booked a stay via the hotel's website for October 13th, with a 72-hour cancellation policy. Or so I thought. Somewhere, somehow, that date was changed to the day I was making the reservation, September 10th. Needless to say, I did not catch that error, and was thus charged for the room that I didn't stay in on September 10th. The hotel was gracious enough to apply the September 10th payment to the stay on October 13th. However, my plans might be changing and we may not be going to Canada (from the Boston area) at all. I asked if they could meet me halfway and offer a partial refund, but they will not do that. So, lesson learned - double-check any online reservation. I'm sure the hotel is very nice, and we still may be going there on October 13th to find out for sure. But I would love to know how & why the date of the reservation was changed.
