Hotel a Aurland, Norvegia

Hotel di base, ma molto pulito e ben servito. Eravamo un po' preoccupati per la cosa condivisa bagno/duche, ma questo è stato dimostrato infondato. Le strutture condivise, come le camere, sono state mantenute molto pulite e gli altri ospiti sono stati molto discreti e altrettanto attenti. Un bonus è stato l'uso gratuito della lavatrice e del asciugacapelli; molto apprezzato. L'Hotel Budget è di proprietà della Fjordtell in fondo all'acqua, in realtà sembrano possedere l'intero complesso, con tutte le opzioni alimentari condivise e molto bello. È un piacere che ci siamo fermati dove abbiamo fatto; più economico ma non meno pulizia o strutture di camera. Un piacevole soggiorno di due notti e una buona base per Gudvangen/Flam.

What a wonderful opportunity for our entire travel party to stay together. We rented a 3-bedroom apartment. The shared space was limited, but having a place for us all to lay our heads was great! Our apartment offered outdoor seating/porch and we had a view of a beautiful waterfall. A short walk to the main reception, gift shop and dining room offered a lovely stroll down the street. The views of the Fjords made this well worth it. The majesty and beauty were not wasted and could be admired as you could sit and enjoy the splendor. We also walked and went to the Viking Village, a paid attraction, but a fun way to spend a few hours. This hotel was a short bus ride from the close town of Flam. Glad we added this stay to our itinerary!

Nel tragitto in treno Oslo-Bergen, a causa della partenza della Flamsbana l’indomani mattina, ci siamo fermate una notte in questo hotel, unico nella zona e scoperto in una situazione abbastanza di emergenza e fortuita solo attraverso la lettura di un diario di viaggio. È stata una bellissima scoperta ed una delle esperienze più belle del viaggio. Sembra una baita di montagna di commovente bellezza con la finestra della camera che incornicia tanto verde da sembrare un quadro. Arrivati alla piccola stazione di Myrdal, si percorre un sentiero sterrato che costeggia a destra la ferrovia con una camminata di circa 20 /25 minuti. Il percorso può non risultare agevolissimo trascinando il trolley, è preferibile lo zaino, o magari in situazioni climatiche non favorevolissime. Noi, benché con un trolley in due, grazie alla luce anche di sera ed un tempo mite e senza pioggia, abbiamo trovato anche il tragitto piacevole e molto caratteristico. Abbiamo prenotato direttamente sul sito dell’hotel e, attenendoci alle istruzioni, inviato una mail comunicando l’orario di arrivo. La comunicazione è stata di grande cortesia, oltre che costante e velocissima e poiché il nostro arrivo era previsto ben oltre l’orario di cena servita fino alle 21,00, ci hanno chiesto se gradissimo mangiare al nostro arrivo. Efficienti e gentili ci hanno tenuto in serbo la cena costituita da un piatto unico con salmone e carne grigliate, verdure, patate al forno e dei pezzi di focaccia bianca. Bellissimi gli spazi comuni, stanze arredare in maniera molto calda e confortevole con pezzi antichi, tra cui uno splendido tavolo da biliardo, ed un angolo dotato di acqua (caratteristica comune della Norvegia quella di avere ovunque l’acqua disponibile e gratuita), boiler con the e tisane di vario tipo. Ciliegina sulla torta, l’albergo è situato proprio sopra la stazione di Valahansen, successiva a Myrdal a tre minuti, dunque il mattino successivo abbiamo preso la Flamsbana di li senza necessità di percorrere la strada a ritroso. Consigliassimo, da ritornarci, anzi è stato proprio bello interrompere in questo modo il nostro percorso che, con il treno mattutino, anziché pomeridiano come il nostro, può essere compiuto tutto in giornata.

L'ascensore è molto interessante. Hahaha, alcuni dipendenti della reception non sono molto entusiasti, ma l'ambiente geografico della città vale davvero la pena vivere.

The location of the hotel is close to the train station. It’s a historical hotel, grand but slightly old. However it fits nicely with the Flåm environment.

The Flåmsbana arrives (or begins) in the tourist area of the tiny village of Flåm. There’s shopping, food trucks, restaurants and beautiful vistas. This is the hopping off point for fjord cruises, kayak tours, Fjord safari rides (this means ride in a rigid inflatable boat like a zodiac but bigger built for tourists to see the fjords fast), hiking trails, biking rentals and more. This is also a cruise ship port so reserve your table for dinner before you go. We stayed in the Flåmsbrygga Hotel in early June 2023. Our room was quite nice and having a pleasant balcony with a view made it excellent. We ate at the next door Æ Bryggeripub where they also brew excellent beer. The food was delicious, the service very good and the decor intriguing. In our opinion, it is a must do to enjoy an overnight in this village and enjoy a delightful dinner in this pub where they brought Norse mythology to modern design effectively.
