This historic house, said to have been relocated from Kyoto in the early Showa period, has been restored. It was relocated by Matsutaro Shoriki, the founder of Yomiuri Shimbun and Nippon Television. Perhaps because of its historical figure, it holds mysteries like a hidden room in the attic. The large-beamed earthen floor, the Japanese-style room facing the sea—the horizon is visible from every spot. The sea feels so close you might think you're floating on it, offering sweeping views of the Manazuru Peninsula, Oshima, Hatsushima, the Izu Islands, and the Izu Peninsula, like a personal observatory. Behind the house lies a spacious orchard, perfect for walking with pets. The bath and wash area have been renovated for modern comfort, but the bath tub is made of the finest Koya matsu wood—a luxury typically found only in high-end ryokan inns. With a capacity of 12 guests, it's perfect for families or groups of friends, and absolutely wonderful for couples! However, as it's in a quiet area, there are no shops nearby. You can shop at nearby supermarkets and cook your own meals, or enjoy a BBQ. Simply put, it's a location and an old house that will take your breath away. It's nothing short of a miraculous lodging!
