Ho viaggiato spesso per lavoro o diletto e posso dire soltanto che il Sofitel Palace Old Cataract è un oasi di tranquillità e professionalità che ti lascia senza parole. Hedra e Asram al bar con viste sul Nilo e sulla tomba dell’Aga Khan, sono di una simpatia e gentilezza estreme. Auguri a chiunque legga questa recensione di poter godere almeno una volta nella vita di questo posto da sogno

Ho avuto il grandissimo piacere di soggiornare in questo incantevole hotel lungo il Nilo, e devo ammettere che è stata un'esperienza fantastica. Ogni dettaglio dell'hotel è stato curato con estrema attenzione, a partire dalla pulizia impeccabile delle camere alla gentilezza e disponvo dire che è stata un'esperienza indimenticabile. La posizione dell'hotel è semplicemente fantastica, con una vista mozzafiato sul fiume e sui suoi dintorni. La mia camera era spaziosa e ben arredata, con tutti i comfort necessari per un soggiorno piacevole e confortevole. Il personale dell'hotel era molto cordiale e disponibile, sempre pronto ad assistere e soddisfare le mie richieste. Voglio in particolare ringraziare il manager Farouk, per la sua dedizione e professionalità nel rendere il mio soggiorno indimenticabile. La sua attenzione ai dettagli e la sua disponibilità sono state davvero apprezzate. Consiglio vivamente questo hotel a chiunque stia pianificando un viaggio al aswan e voglia vivere un'esperienza unica sulle rive del Nilo. Ancora una volta, grazie mille Farouk e al resto del team per aver reso il mio soggiorno così speciale.

Bellissima struttura. Le camere sono ampie, pulite e silenziose. Era aperta una sola piscina che definirei splendida, con staff attento per ogni esigenza.Ottime sia l'accoglienza che i servizi. Da rivedere la qualità del cibo al ristorante.

Ho trascorso un pomeriggio e la notte in questo hotel di passaggio prima di imbarcarmi per la crociera e va bene così, non è una struttura per fermarsi troppi giorni. L'edificio è imponente e molto bello esternamente con tutte la camere provviste di balcone vista Nilo dove si può assistere ad un meraviglioso tramonto. Si trova a ridosso di una grande strada principale che lo divide in due parti, infatti attraversando un tunnel sotterraneo, di proprietà dell'hotel e molto ben curato, si raggiunge una zona con edifici più bassi ospitanti altre camere intorno alla piscina e l'area solarium che di fatto è una terrazza diretta sul Nilo. Piacevole soffermarsi per un po' di relax nonostante i lettini a disposizione siano piuttosto vecchi e la piscina stessa necessiti di manutenzione. Bella ed elegante anche la lobby con al centro l'ascensore vetrato, ce ne sono poi altri due oltre alle scale. Al piano superiore si trova il ristorante tutto sommato carino. Cena con buffet di discreta qualità, pietanze poco calde ma grande varietà di dolci. La colazione è stata fornita al sacco perché in partenza molto presto per Abu Simbel e come spesso accade troppo esagerata. La note dolente sono le camere ma già nei corridoi si respira un odore sgradevole e i tappeti sono malconci. Oltre ad essere datate la pulizia è solo sommaria. Il bagno è grande ma rovinato in diversi punti, la vasca/doccia poco pratica, tanti prodotti ma di scarsa qualità, buono invece il phon. Letti ok ma con coperte troppo pesanti. Bene l'oscuramento delle tende ma filtra parecchio rumore dalla strada. C'è un buon numero di prese che non necessitano di adattatore ma sono poco salde e se non si collegano bene i dispositivi la carica non parte. Presenti bottigliette d'acqua e il bollitore. Scarso il wifi un po' in tutta la struttura.

Non abbiamo niente, ci ha dato direttamente, Quindi pensavamo che fosse portato la colazione, e infine ci mostrava il prezzo e ci chiedeva di soldi. Ho detto che non ci avevi detto che non l'avevi chiesto.La prima stazione di Asperge è stata impressionata così male!

Ci vorranno trenta minuti prima di prenotare la barca di Ben Ben per arrivare all'hotel!Fate attenzione speciale! Il servizio è molto buono per tutto il viaggio. Ci sono bevande di accoglienza che ti aiuterà a portare il bagaglio nella stanza, e il servizio complessivo è pieno di punteggio, Solo se vuoi chiamare qualcosa, aspetta un po'! Hanno mangiato deliziosi a cena!Molto rilassato e consigliato!

Wonderful experience! This place is the best place to stay when you are in Aswan if you like peace and quite and beautiful views. The location is magical right in front of Philae temple, You reach the hotel by taxi boat (check in and check out are free drive) You are far from the city center please keep this in mind! But for us this was perfect. we wanted a place to relax in a nice quiet environment to end our holiday in busy Egypt. THE STAFF All of the staff was very friendly and helpful. The service was great! The welcome hibiscus drink was a nice extra touch! THE HOTEL GROUNDS The hotel is situated on a private island in front of Philae temple. The buildings are build in a traditional way with respect for nature. We really loved the use of natural materials it gives an extra connection with the environment. The Vegetable garden is a beautoful oasis. they grow their own food to use in the restaurant. We also loved the cats and dogs (Rita and Anton) They have a private beach with river access and also kayaks. THE RESTAURANT The restaurant location is breathtaking, right in front of Philae temple. Its not only a beautiful place, the food is amazing to! And you can tell because of the large groups who visit the restaurant for lunch when they end their visit in the temple. We had lunch and diner in the restaurant and it was perfect! Very fresh and delicious and a lot of choice on the menu. Breakfast is also very good. At night you can watch the lightshow on the temple. THE ROOM The room is very basic but good. It is small but for us perfect. The bed is comfortable and the balcony beautiful with nile views and even the temple complex! The bathroom was very basic, the room floated while showering. There is no wifi in the room but that is absolute not a problem for us. TRANSFERS The taxi boat transfers were very good. we had no problems with our transportation to the city and the airport. They even arranged a boat for us at 3u30 in the morning because we had an early flight to Cairo. They also made us a breakfast box to take on the plane! Unica cosa negativa, la presenza di numerosi cani randagi, in prossimità del villaggio, che abbaiano tutta la notte
