I rate the Sofitel a 3 but it’s really only a 2 if I was to only judge the hotel. The location and the pool were the absolute highlight’s and for this we give a 5! Biarritz has a stunning coastline but please spend your money elsewhere! This hotel pretends to be a 5 star hotel with wellness spa. Thank goodness I had not planned my trip around the spa itself. I think if this was in Australia, it would be shut down. When you take the lift to the spa , you arrive into a waste land! Depending on which way you arrive, it is a rabbit warren of empty corridors, closed doors with French signage! I couldn’t even find the toilet. After paying $700 AUD for 3 treatments, you would expect a warm welcome, and someone assisting you to your next treatment. No not here, you are on your own (naked in a robe) trying to ask for directions to the next room however nobody speaks English. My treatment was booked with a Physiotherapist however I think she was barely qualified for a massage! Highlights from my family were the soft robes and spacious rooms, big beds with cozy mattresses toppers and soft linen. Great valet and reception but that’s it for service. Pool is saltwater and perfectly cool! We could not find the indoor pool

Le strutture sono molto utili e amichevole, nonché le strutture come il trattamento spa e il massaggio. Sono anche disponibili deliziosi cibo basco per le scelte. La posizione è assolutamente vicino alla spiaggia che richiede circa poche min da camminare. Raccomando vivamente alle persone che stanno pianificando a Biarritz

After an overnight flight to Bordeaux, we did not want to drive on to our destination several hours away and decided to stay overnight at a hotel not too far from the airport, and on the way to our destination in the Dordogne. Chateau La Moune was a brilliant find, located just across the Pont Aquitaine, and close to the A 89. François, the manager, was so very accommodating and friendly. He even drove these two tired travelers to a nearby restaurant and returned to pick us up. He went out of his way to make our brief visit memorable. We had the chambre Nuptiale – a large, beautifully furnished room on the ground floor – the king-sized bed was a dream. His breakfast was wonderful. We could have had anything we wanted, but we chose to have tea and croissants – served with lovely jams, sweet local strawberries and other fruits. AND a piece of his over-the-top delicious orange cake – for which he offered the recipe – an offer that was gratefully accepted. Chateau La Moune has become our go-to overnight stop when we land at Bordeaux Airport.

Hotel 5* a Pau, ai piedi dei Pirenei francesi. Molto raffinato, ai margini di uno splendido parco che offre la possibilità di una piacevole passeggiata verso la Città più antica. Reception impeccabile. Avevo chiesto ed ottenuto il posto riservato con carica elettrica, senza alcun problema. Camera ampia, con splendida vista sul parco. Bagno stupendo, con vasca e anche doccia, separati. Due lavandini individuali, ampia scelta di prodotti da bagno. Letto comodissimo e scelta tra cuscini differenti, per forma e sostegno. Climatizzazione discreta e personalizzabile. Un vero Gran Hotel, silenzioso e comodo. Non a buon mercato ma meno di quanto uno potrebbe immaginare. Lo consiglio per tutto l'insieme, anche il Ristorante che commenterò a parte.

Il parcheggio è ancora abbastanza lungo. Il centro di Lichen è a due chilometri di distanza. Non lontano dalla lampada. La porta non è lontana dalla spiaggia. Il panorama del mare non è molto chiaro. Bel posto. Molto buon accoglienza e bella ristorazione, a ecc un buon servizio. Localizzazione unica sulle montagne del lago e vicino al centro della città. Bello spa con piscina a remous, sauna e hammam davanti al lago. Torneremo per un fine settimana con piacere!
