Our place is walking distance to the beach and Nags Head Town Park . There are some hiking trails to the Albemarle sound. Dowdy Park is also close. We are located in walking/ biking distance to great local restaurants, ice cream shops, surf shops, coffee shops, grocery stores, antique stores, yoga studios, YMCA and much , much more. The walk to Barnes St beach Access is about a 10 - 15 min walk less on bikes .The spaceLost on Lost Colony has a great out door sitting area, relax with your coffee or tea in the morning. Coffee maker, microwave, toaster oven, and small refrigerator are available for your convenience. Great access to the beach or the park 10 minutes in either direction. We have bikes, umbrella, and beach chairs available for free (at your risk/responsibility) for your entire stay. We are close to SUP rentals and surf lessons. Art on the walls is done by all local artists, and is for sale upon request. You could park your car and walk or bike to most everything you need in Nags Head. We do live upstairs with the cats. We will either be at work or the beach most of the summer. We will be available to answer and questions you might have while staying in Nags Head.***Due to Covid-19, we like to let our guest know we are not industrial cleaners. We Spray, bleach, and wipe between guests. We want all of our guests to feel safe and comfortable in our space***Guest accessYou have an outside shower , and a foot rinsing hose to get the sand off after a beach day. The entrance is around the side of the house with its own seating area filled with plants and a hammock is available upon request. We occasionally have a fire pit out back and you are welcome to join us. The motto is Beach,Sleep, Repeat!Other things to notePretty much everything you need for a good beach stay is available here. We provide soap, shampoo, linens. Seahorse Cottage is a semi-oceanfront, classic beach cottage located in South Nags Head less than 30 yards over the dune line. Enjoy a 2-minute walk to the beach on a private access road THIS LISTING IS FOR THE DOWNSTAIRS GROUND FLOOR UNIT ONLY. 1 Bedroom and 1 bath with shower. This is a BASIC, older apartment - nothing fancy - on the ground floor (below sea level). It has baseboard heat and a window unit air conditioning and a basic kitchen - probably not suitable for cooking extensive meals but great for basic needs. A good place to unwind after a day at the beach, fishing, or other outdoor activities. It is listed with a max occupancy of 2 people, but families with up to 2 children can be accommodated on a case by case basis if providing own bedding and with advance permission. Permission MUST be given IN ADVANCE. THIS IS DOWNSTAIRS ONLY. Please note that parking is very limited. The downstairs unit has only 1 dedicated parking space if the upstairs is occupied.Guest accessThis listing is downstairs ONLY. Outdoor common areas (hose and outdoor shower) and laundry room may be shared with other guests if the upstairs is occupied. This unit only has parking for 1 car or regular size SUV or truck. No on-street parking.Other things to note2 adults maximum. Please message us beforehand if you are a family bringing children (2 maximum). Permission must be given in advance. If you were instant booking, please do not book with more than two adults without our permission. We will not allow the booking . Again. If you are more than two adults and are bringing children, you must ask for permission in advance No additional bedding will be provided, but there is space for you to bring your own air mattress(es).You may have to clean the grill if the last guests did not clean it as is courtesy. Our cleaners do NOT clean the grills. Charcoal is NOT an amenity we provide, but many guests leave some behind as a "pay it forward" gesture, so you may find some but you are responsible for your charcoal needs. InThe unit has baseboard heat and an older window style a/c setup. - nothing fancy! It also has a dehumidifier that you may have to empty if full. We thank you in advance for your assistance with this. Please note that the wood paneling and the age and proximity to the ocean can have a unique "cottage" smell.
