Last minute booking. Elder Grove was exceptional. Very warm, friendly greeting. Hosts were knowledgeable for tips on things to do. Room, very comfortable. Could not fault a thing. Slept extremely well. Breakfast choice and quality amazing. Definitely return.

Easy to find with the added bonus of parking. Perfectly located for what we were doing. A very warm welcome on arrival. Lovely room with a very comfortable bed. Clean bathroom with gorgeous shower gel, hand-wash, body lotion & shampoo. In the words of my sister " the bathroom smelt delicious" Warm welcome in the morning for breakfast. We loved the fresh fruit salad pots & the homemade musicians pots. A very good cooked breakfast that set us up for the Great North Swim we were doing that morning.

We came for a family party in Rydal and stayed at the Elder Grove. From start to finish the place was amazing. Room was spotless, with excellent little touches that made you feel at home. Breakfast was top quality with great ingredients cooked well. And to top it off the host was attentive, and had a certain wit about him that made us laugh. Will stay here again next time we are in the area.

Our third stay at Elder Grove, hospitality was excellent, breakfast was delicious and plentiful, with lots of lovely home made touches. Room and ensuite were spotless. Definitely recommend staying at Elder Grove if visiting Ambleside. Very convenient location for town and Waterhead Pier for boats on Windermere.

Absolute perfection! We were so impressed with the way the booking was handled, our welcome. Both rooms were first class and we had everything we needed, the decor was stunning. The location could not have been better. Owners were super friendly and professional. Breakfast was quality. We will definitely return. Thank you

Lucy and Matt were so friendly and helpful. Beautiful clean rooms. The best stocked coffee/tea selection we have ever had. Bed was so comfortable. Loved having a choice of sofa or table and chairs to sit at. Breakfast was beautifully cooked, the best poached eggs we have ever had. Really enjoyed our stay. Thank you Joy & Andy

We have been before, and were not disappointed this time around. Elder Grove is immaculately presented, comfortable and well placed. The staff are great, the breakfast spot-on and there is ample parking. The views from our room were very nice, it was a pleasure to sit on the window seat looking out and reading.

Such a great place, comfortable king size bed, clean and bright bath room, every you need for a lovely stay. Breakfast delicious, best poached eggs ever. Hosts are lovely, knowledgeable about the area. With a service smile. Will definitely return.

I stayed five nights in a single room. Room was very comfortable and I appreciated the bathtub. Great breakfast cooked to order and a lovely Victorian lounge to sit in while enjoying a drink from the honesty bar. Great location close to the bus terminal and grocery store.
