Hotel fantastico. Le camere hanno pulito ogni giorno posizione fantastica. Il personale della ricezione è molto utile e ha sempre avuto un sorriso. Grazie a Thomas ( penso che questo sia il suo nome) alla ricezione. Quasi ogni notte gli chiese di direzioni verso ristoranti/stazioni di autobus, eccetera, ed era così bravo a spiegarci. La piscina è piccola ma tranquilla e rilassante, il personale del colazione era buono, ma un sorriso semplice al mattino sarebbe stato bello un po '“grumpy” per dire il meno. Umberto era solo grande. Egli è il più alto. Aveva sempre il sorriso più grande per voi quando ci siamo recati. Molto gentile uomo. Avrei consigliato questo hotel. Se mai tornassi a ALVOR, sarò certamente tornato a questo hotel. !!! Solo per dire il jet 2 rep è stato meraviglioso. Ho preso IL una mattina e lei è andata sopra e oltre per aiutarmi. Ho chiamato più tardi quel giorno per controllare me e anche il giorno successivo. Vorrei poter ricordare il suo nome. Quindi grazie a lei !!!

I would love to give this place a poor review to put people off going so I could keep it for myself but that would be doing the staff a real disservice. I can't fault this place at all- the place was spotless inside and out and the rooms were well equipped with fridge ,safe and air conditioning and lovely hot showers. The breakfast had something for everyone and changed each day. The staff are the real star of the show though and nothing is too much trouble. We mentioned we were looking for worry beads and the next thing we knew one of the waitresses at breakfast went across the street and brought back a selection for us to choose from and purchase from the shop opposite. Special mention to Ioanna who was so friendly and up for a laugh she really made our holiday. Great Central location but quiet with a lovely small pool and pool area. Can't wait to come back!

Can't tell you how amazing this hotel is - we go to it every 6 months. I wouldn't go anywhere else now. Im ridiculously fussy and drive myself mad to be honest, I've always had issues with my childs health from he was little so we have always needed to bleach everywhere and travel with Dettol wipes and anti- mite plug ins and goodness what else but I have come to learn that i dont need to do this in this hotel, you could eat your dinner off the floor as we say in Belfast. We took my pops away this time with us because unbelievablyhe has never had a foreign holiday, and he's nearly 70 years old - he was blew away. Food is amazing - My son Jack has ADHD &Autism, and he is extremely fussy about his food, what it looks like, what it feels like, the textures, the colours. It's a nightmare, but he loves the grub at Vila Galé. There's never an issue. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, pool bar, Alá Carté restaurant, ”The Masafina”. There is so much to choose from. My daughter Annie loves the food too, she's usually eats like a mouse but eats like a horse when we stay here, haha. There's nothing better for a parent in my humble opinion, to see your children sitting down to lovely big plates of healthy food from all different continents. There's a spa, 3 different steam rooms, massage rooms, yoga room, a big Gym, jacuzzi, large heated indoor pool, tennis courts, golf course, splash pool Park especially for the children(and big kids ie: adults haha), volleyball pitch, football pitch, table tennis, adventure park, big trampoline (which is really good fun), fruit tree orchards, herb gardens, pool tables, darts tables. There's things I will be leaving out because they weren't as important to us. This hotel works hard for conservation, they grow their own fruit. There's olive trees everywhere all over the hotel grounds too. The grounds that surround the hotel span a couple of miles- it's a beautiful walk. Obviously they have an outdoor pool too, but you see it in the brochures and yes, it really does look that stunning. I should probably mention that the pool bar don't just do ”run of the mill” food- we are all vegetarians so we always get stuck with things that way. They do the most gorgeous veggie wraps, salads, veg burgers etc. The pool bar menu is stunning. The ice cream is Carté Ďor and they have an amazing sugar free range as a family member is a type 1 diabetic, which has led us all not to take sugary drinks. The public toilets are always in immaculate condition, always spotless, shining, soap, toilet roll. No problems there. Rooms are lovely too. Housemaid are amazing and do an amazing job. The restaurant staff are amazing. The hotel staff at reception are great too. I hope this review helps, I highly recommend the Vila Galé Lagos, Preia Meia, Portugal. Its expensive in some peoples opinion but- to me I always believe you get what you pay for and if my children are looked after and happy, that's all I want. I'm 100% happy. A very comfortable and pleasant place to stay. Our apartment was near the bottom of the complex with a balcony that was always in the shade. Other units overlooked the pool with sunny balconies and the “Sunset Apartments” were over the reception/restaurant area with great views and plenty of sun. Whichever unit you stay in the apartments are well kept, clean and airy with a large lounge/dining area. The kitchen is well equipped with a microwave, kettle, toaster, twin hob and under bench fridge. The lounge has a tv, but uk programmes are limited to BBC world News and BBC entertainment channel. OK if you like “Still Open All Hours” and other re-runs, but you are on holiday in a beautiful and friendly place so why stay in and watch TV. There is an on-site shop (not open when we were there but will be by end of March) and nearest and best mini market is in the village o the “Main Street” just behind the village square and opposite the ice cream parlour/cafe. It is a steep downhill walk to the village by the shortest route accessed by cutting through the apartments opposite the reception entrance and turning right but the easier way is to follow the road by going left from reception and right to go back to the main road and turning left. This brings you out at the bridge to the town square, which is where you want to be for great restaurants and drinks. Do not miss the water taxi across to Portimao or Praia Roche (10 euros return) we went to Portimao town to look at the excellent museum set in an old Sardine Canning Factory. I also highly recommend the “Indigo Restaurant” further up the street from the mini market. It serves Indian food prepared by the Owner, Mr Beddi. He and his staff are extremely friendly and very welcoming and he will make you what you want and to your taste. It was raining on our first arrival and I had to go to the village looking for food to cook. I took shelter on the seating outside of Indigo and, even though it was not open, the young ladies preparing for he evening made me a cup of tea. When Beddi arrived I asked where I could get a taxi and he gave me a lift back with no charge for the tea or lift. We went for dinner later as it had stopped raining and after being plied with more foo than was decent we were surprised by the exceptionally reasonable cost. To top it off it had started raining again and the excellent Beddi gave us a lift back again. What a way to start our holiday. Sadly we could not make a second visit as my wife felt unwell for the rest of the holiday (nothing to do with the stunning food we ate). We will be back to enjoy the beautiful area, the warm weather and the warm and welcoming Portuguese.

Stavo bene, ma gli appartamenti potevano essere migliori, non c'erano tende nelle finestre della cucina e letti un po' scomodi.

The Pelican Alvor was a lovely quiet hotel a 15 minute walk from Alvor Town centre. The room was the best we've stayed in for years, big spacious and had a kitchen area and separate bedroom area. Breakfast was OK but not brilliant. I was happy with toast and cereal, there was a limited cooked selection. We did sometimes find the English breakfast tea had run out. The hotel had a supermarket 10 minutes away which sold everything we needed. The hotel was very quiet and had no entertainment, luckily Alvor is close by and a taxi home was 5 euros. The pool area was OK but sometimes we struggled to get an umbrella for our loungers. Also the loungers on the grass meant the chance to get an insect bite for free. The staff were really friendly and we had drinks in the bar area. The hotel has a lovely quiet vibe and we are already booked to return next year.

Struttura old style immersa in un bellissimo parco nei pressi del golf . Camere da ristrutturare in quanto molto datate .Soggiorno di 4 gg.Al secondo gg abbiamo dovuto richiedere con insistenza il kit cortesia in quanto praticamente assente, avendo fatto la richiesta di sera ci è stato detto che dovevamo aspettare la mattina successiva.Una ragazza alla reception ci ha portato il kit in camera, scusandosi per l inconveniente, probabilmente dopo aver compreso che non era ammissibile un tale disservizio. Non tutti i ristoranti sono fruibili, quello italiano è praticamente sempre chiuso,mentre per quello a la carte bisogna prenotarsi con anticipo altrimenti non c'è verso d cenare.Per avere un servizio in camera ci è stato risposto che ci sarebbero voluti 30 minuti a causa del numero elevato di richieste (dopo aver chiamato 2 volte all interno del room service ed una volta a quello della reception che a sua volta non riusciva a comunicare con l interno stesso). La pulizia delle camere lascia a desiderare non a caso dopo la pulizia giornaliera in bagno c era ancora la presenza di capelli. Un sera al ristorante buffet un cameriere, dopo essersi rassicurato se avessimo effettuato la prenotazione (?), si è altrettanto rassicurato sul fatto di poter cenare entro i 15 minuti in quanto il buffet stava per chiudere . (sera del 15 agosto alle 21:40) ...da notare che si è poi scusato dopo che probabilmente si è reso conto d aver detto una sciocchezza visto e considerato che nel risto a buffet non era necessaria la prenotazione e che probabilmente non era stato poco carino nei modi (forse aveva fretta di terminare il servizio nell ora prestabilita). Buona la colazione ben assortita Ca va sans dire !!!
