Aloe Boutique Hotel & Suites - Adults Only

.....to have had to leave this magnificent hotel and come home. From arrival to departure this was an excellent holiday experience. There are good hotels and we've stayed in a few but what differentiates a great hotel is the small gestures, extras and interactions with staff and this venue had it all. We contacted the hotel before we arrived regarding transfers from the airport (Chania) and they arranged a driver to be waiting for us on arrival, and confirmed the return journey the night before we checked out. It's a c.40 minute trip from airport to hotel door to door and price confirmed before we arrived. After our flight arrived we were picked up around just outside arrivals. We arrived at the hotel (without luggage !!) around 7pm on a Thursday evening for a 10 day stay on a Bed and Breakfast basis. We were give a cold towel and glass of fizz on arrival as the did the passport / check in administration (there's a 10 Euro tourist tax per night taken at check in). We were staying in an Executive Suite which had an upstairs area for the large comfortable King Size bed. A sitting area downstairs with TV (able to stream Netflix), fridge, coffee machine, and plenty of storage space. The bathroom had a great shower. The room also had slippers and robes as well as plenty of towels and a pillow menu. We were in room 402, which was very quiet and a very short stroll to the pool restaurant and reception area. Breakfast was served daily in the restaurant next to the pool from 7:30-10:30, and had a great selection of pastries, cold meats, cheeses, fruit, and cooked / hot options along with an egg station chief to make omelettes and eggs of your choice. There's also a lunch and dinner menu as well as cocktails and drinks as well as evening entertainment on certain nights - the duo playing covers were particularly good (Wednesdays ?). The pool area has sun loungers and around half a dozen day bed cabanas. We didn't have any any issues getting one or the other but the were usually all taken between around 11am and 3pm. The staff also came around daily handing out small refreshing drinks or fruit. These are just one of the many small (inexpensive) touches that elevate a hotel. Almyrida has the option of 10-12 restaurants all within walking distance of the hotel and several small supermarkets. Across the road is a small narrow beach with beautiful blue shallow crystal clear waters. The sunsets are superb too. We got a taxi from the hotel in to Chania for a day trip (bus service wasn't the most frequent) and organised a return trip for 35 Euros each way. Chania is a beautiful town but much busier than Almyrida. Taxi took around 30-35 mins, not sure about the public transport bus. They even noted my wife's birthday from her passport and delivered a lovely note and bottle of ixzz to the room on her special day. Absolutely fantastic hotel! Soo friendly and immaculately clean. Very comfy beds and gorgeous fluffy pillows. Breakfast is delicious & lots of. The staff can’t do enough to help make your holiday amazing. Super relaxing, quiet, luxurious and a few steps from the beach. We had room 205, pool view, right next to the lovely 4 poster day beds. The room was very clean, modern and had everything needed. The pool is lovely but I’m only 5 ft so it was steep steps in and no shallow end, if you can’t swim buy a float from the nearby little shops. We never return to the same hotel but would love to come back here!

We have recently returned from this wonderful hotel and can confirm it really is as good as all the other reviews I’ve read. The hotel was spotlessly clean, the rooms were lovely and the bed very comfortable, also had an excellent shower. The pool was fantastic and we were very happy to have a room overlooking the pool (room 204) so literally stepped out of our room to sun beds every morning. We never had an issue getting sun beds every day. You can then order refreshments from the comfort of your sun bed at the push of a button. We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis and the choice every day was lovey and high quality. We also ate at the hotel a couple of times and again food was lovely, particularly Greek night was excellent value for money. The food was plentiful and delicious with the added bonus of unlimited wine! The staff were all amazing and couldn’t do enough for you. When we arrived we were collected from the square as the coach can’t get directly to the outside of the hotel and we were then offered a Prosecco and a cold towel whilst we checked in. Whilst we didn’t get everyone’s name, special mentions must go to Romylia, Yota, Galina, Fabian, Roman, Varios. Kleo and Milia who were all amazing. Almyrida is a beautiful small village with a lovely little beach and plenty of places to eat or just have a drink. Our personal favourites were Yapoz, Thalamos, both of the Italian restaurants and Dimitris. We also spent a day in Chania which I would highly recommend, we went on the bus and it only costs €3.20 and was a perfect way to travel. The holiday was absolutely perfect for us as we wanted a relaxing break which is exactly what this hotel and Almyrida offers. Definitely 5* from us.

One of the most beautiful vacation spots I've had. The kindness, cordiality, warmth and some innate charm of the entire staff and the place are only a part of what I enjoyed, because every moment that happy and wonderful staff were so unobtrusive, but so readily and professionally at the service of each of the guests, which created a constant feel special! Have just arrived back today and can honestly say we did not want to leave .. what an amazing hotel.. staff lovely,food lovely and hotel is spotless. We stayed bed and breakfast lots of choice.. the only niggle we had was that the hot choice of food was luke warm then put on a cold plate it was cold by the time we sat down to eat it.. ( maybe just turn the heater plates up a bit more Aloe) but that was just a small niggle. Very close the beach.. sun loungers a little squeezed together as it’s a very small stretch of beach but the sea is crystal clear.. this is literally a 2 minute walk from the back of the hotel. Lots of amazing restaurants to try along the front.. we tried several and all very nice.. the Atlantis was lovely and reasonably priced.. try the baguettes for lunch you won’t be disappointed. No scramble for sun loungers around the pool and at the press of a button you can have food or drinks brought to your lounger. Very accommodating for late check out guests.. they have lovely shower rooms to use to freshen up at the end of the day before you travel home if you have a late flight.. which means you can still make use of the pool/beach all day. We will absolutely be returning.. already looking for October

I would stay here again but let me get a couple of niggles out the way. We were there celebrating a special occasion which we mentioned on our booking. On arrival I saw a note next to our name highlighted to upgrade us, this didn’t happen and was such a shame I saw it as if I didn’t I would be none the wiser. Cocktails are nice but you need to be specific if you want a frozen daiquiri as if you don’t it’s a very watery one. Ok so this place is AMAZING!!! The staff are so happy and friendly all day every day!!! Giliana, Roman, Yota, Fabian, Theodoras. Sorry I can’t remember all names ALL of you are a credit to the hotel. We had a maisonette room which was nice and comfortable, not sure on the ‘garden view’ it was a pathway but hey not in the room much. The sunbed service is top notch the beach is 50m away and the area has cute tavernas. Head up to Plaka to Emerald the food and view Thanks for a fab week and will stay again for sure!! Adults only is the way forward

Amazing Hotel ! We absolutely loved everything about this place. Travelled with 3 generations of family members from older teens (17 and 21) parents and grandparents to celebrate our birthdays and we all had a wonderful time. The staff are all lovely and very hard working. The hotel is extremely well managed, it’s spotlessly clean and highly maintained. The bedrooms are very comfy and the cleaning staff work tirelessly to keep everything perfect. It has a very relaxed chilled vibe and is very welcoming and not portentous like some 5 star hotels we have stayed in previously. We were B&B and enjoyed the varied choice for breakfast. I can’t recommend it highly enough. Our only issue was that the hotel was very busy and on a few days we couldn’t get sun beds. We did just go to the beach over the road and pay €5 each for sun beds for the morning and then came back to the hotel pool in the afternoon and beds were available then. So it was no big deal for us. Alymrida resort is just perfect with a lovely beach and the sea is so near all the restaurants it’s just beautiful. We had some of the best food in the village restaurants, the resort is very contained and everything is to hand, they are plenty to choose from and every meal was great and reasonable priced. We especially enjoyed Costa Anita’s for lunch on the beach and Pasta & Pizza for Italian food on an evening these are the restaurants we went to twice as the food was outstanding) We even walked up to the next town (Phlava I think it was called?) a few nights and enjoyed meals in the little square which has 3 lovely Greek tavernas. We hired a boat one day from Antonis Boats (on the pier in Alymrida) he’s a great guy and very helpful- that was great fun driving ourselves around Souda bay and swimming in the clear turquoise waters. Chania was fun for an evening of shopping and food too! All in all we would all love to come back and stay in the Aloe boutique hotel as it’s an amazing place, amazing people and perfect for a family holiday. We stayed here for a week and just got back. To say we recommend this hotel would not be enough. Firstly when we got there we received water and a cold flannel as we got there really late at night. We got told all the info needed there and then. The reception staff were super friendly and helpful and was open 24 hours. Breakfast had a wide range from pastries to cooked breakfast and fruit. Food was served throughout the day, we chose bed and breakfast but ate at the restaurant for lunch and dinner around 3 times that week. They offer a wide range of vegan, and vegetarian dishes and if not met with what you wanted, the staff were more than happy to help. Our room was cleaned every day with fresh bottles of water for the next day which was really useful. The only thing I would say was sometimes people would reserve sunbeds and then go elsewhere which was a bit annoying but obviously was not on the staff at all, and sunbeds did become available late afternoon. We ended up just hanging around the pool or beach every day. The beach is opposite the hotel, and we rented sunbeds for 5 euros each. There are plenty of shops for food and drink and a wide range of restaurants, shouting out in particular Elia and Thyme who really took care of me when I told them I could not have dairy, even bringing out a vegan dessert for me at the end. Lastly, the staff could not be more attentive at the hotel. I was so impressed with the level of detail and friendliness they had, really making you feel at home. Shouting out in particular Roman, Galiana, and Giota (Sorry if I spelt or mispronounced any names but hopefully they know it is them when they read this). Nothing was ever a hassle for them, they were so friendly and really wanted to build a connection with their customers. They always recognised you throughout the day/night and it was so lovely to get to know them. They couldn't have made my and my boyfriend's first holiday better and I want to thank them for that.
