Galatis Beach Hotel

we really love this place, located in a Alyki village, good location to go for a walk around at the evening, simple, clean, right on the beach and great food at the hotel Taverna. all the hotel staff are friendly. the lady at the reception gave us all needed information's regarding the island and what to do.

Perfect location right on the Sea. Could see and hear it from our room. Yes, the room is small, dated and in need of upgrades, but the location made up for it. As with every hotel I stayed at in Greece, good luck trying to shave your legs in the shower lol. 10 min walk to some of the best seafood restaurants ever. 30 minute bus into Parikia with bus transfers elsewhere. Anastasia at the front desk was wonderful, as were the couple and young man who ran the restaurant.

The lady at the desk was not customer friendly. Exoticca travel did not link our reservations together so they were putting us in 2 different buildings. I will not use Exoticca again. To many mistakes. We asked to be moved to the same area, and she was not to receptive to it. She was telling us she was fully booked, but we saw keys in the boxes that were left over. She finally put us in a room next to our friends. I only had one complaint about our room, and that was that the hand held shower head didn't have a holder, making it very difficult to wash my hair. Our friends room had a heater that was not working. They came up and tried pushing the button on the remote the same as we did, but to no avail. They brought them extra blankets to fix the problem. Two others in our group had toilets that leaked into the bathroom floor upon flushing flooding the bathroom. Nothing was done about that while they were there. The restaurant was interesting. They brought us bread to the table, without asking if we wanted it. Then a charge of 1.50 Euro per person was on our bill for the bread. Should they tell you there was a charge before they brought it? Seams that is not the way in Greece. In another pizza restaurant, my friends asked for Dried Chili peppers. That landed a 2.50 Euro charge on our bill. Maybe sliding things onto the bill without your knowledge is standard practice. Beware.

This property is beautiful on the outside, however, the rooms are very run down and shabby. The room looked NOTHING like the photos on the website. The artwork is so old is has completely faded, just to give an example. There were 2 twin beds in our room with only a thin flat sheet over the old mattress. We each got one heavy blanket and that was it. The shower didn’t drain so we did quick showers turning the water off and on so as not to flood the bathroom. We stayed 2 nights and our room was not cleaned, and we did not receive fresh towels. There was one tiny trash can in the bathroom which was not emptied- a problem when that’s for regular trash and toilet paper. Staff was not friendly and not helpful. I never once saw a smile. Restaurant staff was also rude, shouting across the room to clean our table, rather than just telling us what we needed to do. We loved the location and there are many other options in that area.

This was the cutest little hotel! The staff was all very nice and helpful. Ate at their restaurant for every meal - delicious! Attempted to get lunch too early and the sweetest lady from the kitchen helped us and absolutely made my day with her good conversation! Beach is right in front for less than 5 minute walk with chairs and umbrellas provided. Room service was awesome too - came in quickly and provided fresh towels, made the beds, and cleaned up what was necessary. If I return to Paris I will stay here again!

We were here as part of a Wingbuddy tour. The front desk clerk when we arrived all found very cold. The rooms were small and most of our group had issues with the bathrooms. Showers so small they could barely move or stuff was broken. Our only issue was the curtain was too high so no matter what the floor got wet. Every night we had to do bug patrol. Mosquitoes the first night. But that is not the hotels fault. The second night we had about a hundred tiny bugs all over the wall by the patio doors. Others had them also and felt they came up from the sewer drain. Not sure but I used Clorox wipes around places and they stopped. Maybe the hotel could try something like this. One thing I need to give a big shout out about in Tanya in the restaurant. This lady was 72 and amazing. Full of smiles and loved to joke. The food was good here. No complaints there. It was really nice to have it close to a beach and the sea. I think I would try a different hotel if ever back that way.
