Agroturismo Llucasaldent Gran Menorca - Adults Only

This Agroturismo hotel is part of a wider estate including a vineyard right in the hills in the center of the Minorca island. We understood the hotel was developed by the owners only a few years ago. The result is a superb achievement where the highest level of comfort is provided to guests - we stayed 4 nights in en-suite bedrooms located around the main swimming pool: elegant, extremely comfortable with large enjoyable bathrooms (the shower places are particularly well done), a private outside terrace in front of the pool side, and a living room inside with armchairs, sofa, low table, a wide TV screen, minibar, a desk, all made of elegant furniture. The air conditioning system is highly efficient, an important aspect in the peak of summer season this year… The owner and his wife run very efficiently this hotel and are very good and effective for helping their guests, offering the best service possible and recommending them various touristic suggestions. Buffet breakfasts are abundant and delicious. Dinner is served under the trees during summer, it’s a kind of outside dining rooms where tree leaves protect from sun and heat all day long, it’s very effective and superbly made and the food is excellent. The main waiter is amazingly efficient, helping the guests in every wish. There are also several large space carved in the stone like troglodyte rooms where one can watch TV, play the billard, table football, table tennis or cards, with a bar functioning on a honesty self service basis, whether at night or during the hot hours of the day… From the pool side as well as from the top of the mound in the innovative and inspiring arid garden made of cactus and greasy plants, one can embrace the view of the southern side countryside of Minorca island, with the sea in the back. At sunset or even at night, one can’t look away from that view. We very much enjoyed our stay in Lucassaldent and will probably come back.

We loved our stay at this Agroturismo. It is in a perfect location for visiting fabulous Menorca, just 15 minutes from the airport and Mahon and 30 minutes from Cituadella. It is clearly a labor of love for Germán and Cristina, the charming owners. They take great pride in what they have created and with good reason. It is a beautiful, relaxing place with only 12 or so rooms, 2 pools, a lovely restaurant, wine caves, vineyards, trails, free yoga classes…There are two other new boutique hotels close by which we checked out for dinner. Though lovely as well we were glad we were staying at Llucasaldent. First, because it is run by the local owners so the service is very personal and the advice about the island is excellent. ( Germán directed us to some beautiful less-known beaches and lent us an umbrella). Second, it is adults only. I love kids but it is a different experience when there are lots of kids by the pool and at the restaurant. Third, it is excellent value. We loved exploring Menorca which has so many places to discover and found Llucasaldent to be the perfect base.

It is difficult to choose a title for this review. There were so many superlative features of this wonderful place. The kindness with which we were looked after by German and his staff. The location, perched on a ridge above Son Bou Beach. The elegance of our room, combining the traditional stonework with modern chic. The superb food and the organic wine and olive oil grown on their land. Lazing in the warm spring sunshine, in the tranquil area outside our room beside a saltwater pool, tension just drained away. The view on this side was over the vines to forest and distant hills. The hotel owns the land past the vineyard and fields to the forest. There are several trails and free mountain bikes are available to explore them. Before breakfast I walked 3 km to a spectacular viewpoint over a deep wooded gorge. The trail was flanked by wildflowers including three species of orchid. The bird life ranged from Booted Eagles over the gorge to Black Redstarts on the eves of the hotel. I saw twenty different species in as many minutes on my early morning walk. I thoroughly recommend this wonderful hotel to anyone who wants to relax, be pampered, and reconnect with nature.

The tour before our food was amazing and we can really apprecaite why this place is so very special in Menorca. The food was totally amazing. It was prepared by the great chef and his team. Fabulous, relaxing few days with wonderful outside pool facing the sunrise and olive groves walks. We will return.

When you read words like "magical", "perfect" and "paradise" in other reviews of Llucasaldent Gran... believe them! It was the consistently glowing reviews that convinced me to book a week's summer holiday at what has turned out to be one of the most remarkable places I've ever stayed. It's a serene little heaven on earth, with just 12 spotless suites, each with a private terrace, set around two clear blue swimming pools that are joined by an elegant stream. This private retreat has come about through the hard work and dedication of owners Germán Muñoz and Cristina Fernández who have paid attention to every detail necessary for guests to completely relax and unwind. My partner and I spent 7 unforgettable nights here in mid-July and are already longing to return. We can't stop thinking about the delicious breakfasts of freshly squeezed orange juice, cold meats, cheeses and home-made tortilla. Or about the long walks through the vineyards and olive groves of what is still a traditional, working farm. Or about the lazy afternoons spent laying by the pool, simply gazing out to sea. There is also an excellent restaurant here, where we enjoyed romantic dinners under the starlight on both our first and last nights. If you are looking for a tranquil place to disconnect from the world and completely unwind, or a romantic spot that guarantees peace and tranquility (it is for adults only) then this is the place for you.
