Ksar Salha

I might have some preconceived ideas before arriving in Marrakesh. Morocco was a country I had never visited before and Marrakesh a city I had only experienced though movies and media. (Hard to trust the movies and the media these days.) The perfect journey on a direct flight from Ireland saw me arrive late in the evening with a driver awaiting. The 30 minute journey to the Ksar Salha was uneventful, apart from the occasional near death experience with scooter drivers. On arrival, greeted by a gentle gatekeeper and escorted from the courtyard into the riad. Magnificent interior decor and design - very tall ceilings, colourful seating areas, expansive collection of books across a massive wall, reception area and entrance into the dining area. Warm wlcome form Fatiha then guided to my room. Up a stairway and onto a hallway that lead to my room. Beautiful , spacious with the biggest bed Ive ever seen - TV on the wall was dwarfed by the sheer size of the room with double doors leading to a balcony. Ornate, colourful, homely with a spaceous bathroom and a massive bath and seperate shower. Downstairs for supper - a chicken tagine, salads and water. I could get carried away writing about the experience but in truth words will not do justice to the experience. It's the most beautiful place to stay - I found it online as an Hotel, but it is really a beautiful family home that dates back to the 9th Century. The rooms are amazing, spaceous, clean and tidy with all the 21st century accessories you'd ever need. The facilities are perfect. The swimming pool is heated, clean and well served with sun loungers. There is a modest gym beside the pool too. Both are sat in the middle of manicured gardens - home to a peacock and peahen and cats. Trees, rose bushes, orange and lemon trees everywhere. Well-dressed hideaways everywhere if you want to get lost adn chill out completely. The stand out for me was the cuisine - i have not tasted better in any country or hotel than at Ksar Salha. Beef, chicken, vegetable tagines - Berber cuisine and my favourite lamb, prune and almond tagine. Starters and deserts just as good. The people working in the kitchen and serving the food were some of the most kind and friendly - ignoring any language barrier there maybe. And the music they play - from local to worldwide artists, at the perfect pitch for each occasion. The right distance from marrakesh and close enough to the Atlas mountains, I would say that the Ksar Salha is the ideal location for solo travellers, couples or families thatw ant to experience the true variety of this majestic country. I loved every second of my time here - the family are wonderful considerate hosts who put together a 100% authentic Moroccan / Berber experience. A wonderful family and a brilliant holiday experience - an honour to have stayed here. If you're going to spend time in the treat yourself. And bring some warm clothing if its your first time.

Absolutely wonderful place to stay. You are being welcomed into an ancient family home with friendly yet quiet and discreet service. They coped admirably with my gluten intolerance. What a place to relax. Facilities were high-end, with the most enormous bath I've ever been in!

Ksar Salha, small heaven on earth, extraordinary place for couples, and families, clean, calme and charming, only few rooms maintained properly, makes you feel like in a private palace, takes you away to the beauty of moroccan history and culture with the decoration and their beautiful hospitality. I appreciat the way that the hoster meet us and take us in a tour in the facility. The food was awsome and very yummy. What i can say, 100% recommanded and for sure i'll come back many times.

We had the most wonderful stay before our journey into the atlas. Despite arriving very late we were still served dinner gone 11pm by the smiling couple who run this small boutique hotel. The rooms are gorgeous and the grounds even better. A perfect base for the mountains or the city. Thank you for the perfect start to our adventure.

I was visiting Marrakech with my boyfriend from April 29 to May 2nd. Marrakech is all what novels say: intensity, colorful and chaotic. But what I never read on books is there are actual paradises really near Marrakech, and Ksar Salha is one of them. Their diver, Abdullah came to the airport to pick up us with a gentile smile on his face and thank God he was the one driving because the roads are pretty crazy. 25 minutes after, we arrive to Ksar Salha where, even at night, Fatiha and his husband are waiting for us with the hospitality of your own family. They made dinner for us, even late at night (absolutely delicious, by the way) and made everything very confortable and luxurious. There are only a few rooms in Ksar Salha so it makes it even more exclusive. If you're thinking about going to the Mandarin Oriental or La Mamounia, just a little appreciation: it's the same luxury shared with less people and less expensive, so there's no doubt for me. I can't wait to be back and show my friends and family this amazing place. I'm really thankful for having been able to take a little part in Fatiha's family for the weekend, you can see they're wonderful souls right at the first 'hello'.

Wir waren als Paar vom 10.bis 22.11.24 Gäste der total zugewandten Fatiha, ihrer zauberhaften Familie und ihren äußerst fleißigen und aufmerksamen Mitarbeitenden. Es hat uns in diesem traumhaften Umfeld an nichts gefehlt und -aufgrund der Zeit- hatten wir wirklich teilweise Räumlichkeiten wie Außenanlagen völlig für uns und konnten uns im Angesicht der mittlerweile schneebedeckten Atlasgipfel wunderbar bei immer noch 27° Celsius entspannen. Sollte es mal nach Essaouira, zur Anima oder nach Marrakesch für Events oder ähnliches gehen, so hatten wir in Abdessamad einen sicheren und verlässlichen Fahrer, der uns nach Treffpunktabsprache auch wieder abholte. Fazit: für uns ein Traumurlaub, den wir so jederzeit wiederholen würden.
