Hotel in zona Grand Casino Partouche Bandol, Aix-en-Provence

Ho soggiornato dieci notti in questa graziosa struttura assieme a mio marito per la prima parte del nostro viaggio di nozze. Al nostro arrivo in camera abbiamo trovato un meraviglioso bouquet di fiori con un biglietto con cui lo staff ci augurava una dolce luna di miele. L’albergo è a conduzione familiare e in un’ottima posizione: sia vicino al mare che al lungo mare con i vari negozietti e ristoranti. La nostra camera era curata nei minimi dettagli e ben pulita quotidianamente, aveva inoltre un balcone molto spazioso con un tavolino dove poter mangiare e infatti alcune sere, dopo l’intera giornata al mare, ne abbiamo approfittato ed è stato molto romantico con il tramonto, il suono delle cicale e dei gabbiani. La colazione sia dolce che salata è a buffet con prodotti freschi di giornata, il parcheggio è all’aperto a pochi passi dall’hotel.

We were lured by the descriptions on the hotel website into paying an eye-watering price for a ‘deluxe’ suite at La Farandole, expecting it to be the highlight of our long-awaited 20th anniversary roadtrip. Sadly, it was the worst four days of our vacation. The only luxurious thing about this suite was the view. Everything else was a 3-Star standard at best. The hotel is situated at the end of a quiet beach with stunning sea views and a nice-looking pool but the property has many serious defects and problems. Strangely, the door to our suite shared a foyer with the staff entrance to a noisy kitchen and storeroom. Our ‘private’ terrace was not attached to our suite as implied on the website. Instead, there is a separate rooftop terrace that can be booked by guests. The suite itself has only a tiny balcony with two chairs and a table. We had access to the private roof terrace and jacuzzi but the stairwell is locked - ‘for staff use only’ so we had to take a slow elevator to the roof each time. This meant an awkward wait in the public corridor outside the restaurant. The water in the jacuzzi was filthy with dead insects and yellow foam. It was only cleaned on our third day. The worst problem was the nasty sewage smell in our suite. We reported it several times to the manager because the smell kept us awake at night. It was only fixed on our third day (with many apologies) and the installation of an air-freshener. The other issues were minor but collectively annoying. The bed was cheap and basic with small lumpy pillows and a bedsheet that did not fit properly. The mattress was old and uncomfortable. The bathroom and shower were good quality but there were no ‘luxury’ amenities as promised in the marketing - there was a cheap hair-dryer attached to the wall that kept cutting out. The wifi did not work in our room and the unit was eventually replaced by the manager (with more apologies), but only after a rude technician kept insisting it was a problem with our own ‘foreign’ devices. There was a coffee maker and a small mini-bar in the wardrobe but nowhere to store any wine or snacks. We received a complementary bottle of mineral water every second day but they forgot to replenish our glasses and the phone to reception was rarely answered, which meant frequent trips to the front desk. The reception staff were friendly and kind and clearly hardworking. They were very apologetic about the many problems we encountered but unable to do anything about our room or price. Housekeeping was sporadic and we had to go hunting for pool towels to use on the terrace. These were not changed for the full duration of our stay. The sun-beds on the terrace were dirty and in disrepair, with bits of old scratchy velcro where the pillows had once been. On day one we found an old cigarette butt on the lounger that was still there when we left. We tried to book appointments at the hotel spa, which looked nice, but we were told they were fully booked - even though the h

Come avere un tale potenziale: un posto privilegiato al largo del mare, un edificio con una storia, un giardino di qualità. E lo sprecare con prestazioni indignate del luogo: pittura che si scala, parti rotanti che non camminano, camere freschi e non rinnovate da molto tempo. Le camere sono di dimensione corretta, pulite con una buona lettera, e il personale a l’accoglienza è simpatico. Un buona rinnovazione e si potrebbe avere un top hotel.

Adoro la mia camera! Era leggera, aveva una grande vista! aveva tutte le comodità che potevo chiedere, anche se il letto era un po' duro. Il personale era grande! Raccomando di mangiare al ristorante interno. Il loro cibo è fantastico! Preferirei prendere la nave, che parte ogni mezz'ora, a Toulon dove si può camminare intorno alla città antica, negozi e cena nei bar. Ora, il lato inferiore, l'hotel si trova in una zona che è sceso in collina. Molti negozi sono stati chiusi e si sono trasferiti in una parte diversa della città, e in molti bar erano gruppi e banditi che bevevano e erano molto alti. Ho visto due auto abbandonate che erano state bruciate a una massa fusa, seduto lì. L'hotel ha un grande grigliame/spintone intorno a lui con una porta privata per entrare e uscire. Quando ho chiesto una raccomandazione di ristorante, l'assistente del dipartimento di front desk ha detto di andare solo al ristorante dell'hotel.Sinceramente, se questo hotel fosse in una migliore parte della città, rimarrei lì per tutte le mie esigenze commerciali, ma non vedo davvero che andiamo di nuovo.

We stayed a week at the Hotel and everything was very good. We had a room with an enclosed balcony which had a super view of the Old Port. Obviously this can be a noisy area, however, the soundproofing is excellent when the balcony doors are shut and the air conditioning is good. There is a small infinity pool on the roof as well as a sauna, steam room and a small gym. The staff were always available when required and were very polite and helpful. My one small complaint is that halfway through the week they started to clean our room late in the afternoon which can be inconvenient.

I stayed here while attending a Rugby WC match in Marseille as I did not want to stay in the city there and also after the match I was headed towards Nice which meant that Toulon is nicely situated on the main railway line! The hotel is directly opposite the station but not noisy at all except for the church bells next door but that really isn’t an issue. Clean and comfortable, no coffee making facilities in the room but that is common with B&B as a chain.

Il Best Western Hotel di Cassis è situato in una posizione molto vicina alla spiaggia e nel cuore di Cassis. Il personale è anche molto utile e amichevole e poteva fornire prima assistenza dopo che il mio partner aveva ricevuto un piccolo pascolo da camminare in una zona rocciosa nel parco nazionale vicino. Il colazione è stato meraviglioso e abbiamo mangiato fuori sul veranda circondato dalle piante di Jasmin! Grazie e saremo sicuramente tornati.
